It embodies artistic installations, designer exhibitions, catwalk shows, fashion parties and a variety of events which enliven the city during its fashion Welcome to Tranoï and enjoy the show! This season, Tranoï announces the formation of a U.S. Advisory Board for this New York edition that will be dedicated to further expanding the show’s stateside presence. The much respected Simon Collins, former Dean of Fashion at The New School's Parsons School of Design, and who most recently advised WME- IMG on the highly successful reinvention of New York Fashion Week, has been appointed by Armand Hadida, Artistic Director of Tranoï, as the U.S. Creative Advisor to lead the Board. By lending his expertise of the U.S. fashion landscape, Collins will work with Tranoï to identify and connect emerging design talent with key industry decision makers. He is also tasked with assembling a well-rounded group of Advisory Board members comprised of industry executives to provide strategic input and direction. “Tranoï has always been an essential way to find new and exciting designers. I've spent years identifying emerging talent, so it's a great opportunity to bring the best of Paris and New York together under one roof.” Simon Collins, U.S. Creative Advisor “Simon's support of emerging talent and knowledge of the U.S. fashion landscape reflects Tranoï’s standards of quality and creative individuality, making him the ideal partner for our New York edition.” David Hadida, CEO of Tranoï. 4 5 A selection of the new brands presenting at Tranoï New York BRANDON SUN New York-based luxury fur outwear and ready-towear label, Brandon Sun will debut at Tranoï New York with a collection that amplifies the signature cool girl aesthetic in a display of slick hardware, punk inspired studding, and insouciant furs. Entitled “Mnemosyne”, the collection finds inspiration amongst the post-punk influenced subcultures of London during the 1970s. Iconic rock bands, such as Siouxsie and the Banshees, and their motivation are resoundingly parallel to our own disaffected youth. “Mnemosyne” rebels against normalcy – it is the insistence of individuality and independence. Brandon Sun captures this through a collage of mink – shredded, printed, and deconstructed; luxurious navy dyed Russian sable; ultra cozy merino shearling and silky lamb fur. The uniquely singular approach to fur by Brandon Sun is the translation of intellectually avant-garde concepts into tangible pieces for real life. MARTONE CYCLING CO. Fashion bike brand, Martone Cycling Co. debuts at Tranoï New York with an exclusive preview of its Spring/Summer 16 collection. With the Summer Olympic Games in Rio edging ever closer, Brazilian-born designer Lorenzo Martone has created two new styles of the signature MC2 bikes in colors inspired by his native country. Men’s bikes are sold without a basket (which can be purchased separately), while women’s bikes continue to boast the specially designed basket built into each handle bar, making it easy to tote everyday essentials up to 20 pounds. These bikes feature the same technical specifications such as an SRAM system that automatically shifts gears as the rider cycles, and of course, the red chain, that have become signature to the company. The new “Carioca” bike is the first multi-colored bike to be offered by the company, a medley of colors directly interpreting the iconic red, yellow, green, blue and black Olympic rings. The “Diana” bike is a sleek, monochromatic green bike, reminiscent of the Brazilian rainforests and foliage. In the same fashion as preceding seasons, the new style is named “Diana” after a street Martone lived on growing up in Sao Paolo. The new Brazil-inspired bikes are available for both men and women. Martone Cycling Co. will join the celebration in Brazil by supplying the famed Fasano Hotel in Ipanema with a special selection of bikes for guests’ riding pleasure but a first look can be exclusively discovered during Tranoï New York. 6 7 KATIE GALLAGHER Katie Gallagher is celebrated for her attention to detail, superior craftsmanship, and creativity. This Fall/Winter 2016 she debuts at Tranoï New York with her second all-black collection entitled “Veiled”, in which she combines bold leather jackets and military inspired trousers with delicate lace, cashmere, rompers and long slitted silk skirts. Gallagher is inspired by black, the hue that has no hue. Secretive, unknown, mysterious. Black, the darkest color yet the color with no color at all, represents both full absorption and complete absence of light, evil and elegance, beginning and end, a completed cycle. BYRONESQUE Tranoï proudly welcomes Byronesque with a unique installation during the third edition of Tranoï New York. Byronesque, the leading authority in contemporary- vintage fashion and subculture has teamed up with Life in Perfect Disorder to create a limited edition collection of premium vintage T-shirts featuring a dream team of designers. This collection is an anti-fast fashion homage to vintage designers from 20 years ago or more who changed the course of fashion for the better; from the likes of the Antwerp Six, Yamamoto, Westwood to Montana or Kawakubo to name a few. Gallagher’s monochromatic collection relies heavily on textures and subtle details, featuring elements of gothic architecture, stained glass, and Harry Clarke illustrations. Recalling her initial and first allblack collection of Spring Summer 2010, Gallagher’s latest collection includes reworked pieces from SS 2010, completing her line’s cycle. The hard-to-find t-shirts have been carefully sourced by one of Byronesque’s vintage specialist partners, Patrick Matamoros of Chapel NYC. The designs capture the iconic history of each designer in more detail. A portion of sales will be donated towards a fashion student’s graduate show to encourage the next generation of designers to be as imaginative as our fashion heroes. Stained glass-inspired lace textures and hairpieces recall cathedral elements, graveyards, and old Catholic rituals. Gallagher pairs twisted seams and twill tape with velvet ribbons and zippers, defi ning her Fall/Winter 2016 collection. © Balarama Heller and Israel Veintidos Attendees won’t be able to miss this presentation right at the entrance of Tranoï New York and will even have the chance to get captured in the designer T-shirt of their choice. GROUND ZERO GROUND-ZERO is a creative fashion brand founded by brothers Eri and Philip Chu in 2008. The Hong Kongbased duo believes that a good design house should be built on a solid foundation, and ‘Ground-Zero’ is the first step of their creative world. Ground-Zero is a literal translation of the designers' belief that everything has to start from ZERO, where possibilities are unlimited and anything is possible. ZERO could be anything. Their much-anticipated Fall/Winter 2016 collection feels very nineties with pops of color, popular movie references, prints and sporty touches mixed with a second hand store vibe and deconstructed details. Traditional embroidery references are applied on sporty silhouettes, turning this collection in the ultimate luxury streetwear. 8 9 The Tunnel ● New at Tranoï ● Returning VENUE MAP AND DESIGNERS LIST A.02.0 Tranoï Café Concierge A08 Tranoï Tech Care A02 A04 A10 Entrance A11.1 Working Zone Registration Coat check Tranoï Club A01 A16 A14 A12 A18 A20 A22 A24 A26 A28 A30 A32 A34 A36 A38 A40 A03 A05 A07 A09 A11.2 A13.1 A11 A17.1 A15.1 A13 A19.1 A17 A15 A25.1 A20.1 A19 A21 A27.1 A23 A25 Porchlight restaurant A22 A24 A26 A28 A17.1 15.1 A32 A19.1 A17 A15 A30 A19 A34 A36 A20.1 A21 A38 A40 A25.1 A42 A27.1 A25 A23 A44 A27.2 A27 A46 A48 Kusmi Tea A50 A31.1 A29 ialci (legal advice) A52 A54.1 Working Zone A31 A35 A58 A37 A60 A62 A60.1 A37.1 A35.1 A33 A56 A66 A45.1 A41.1 A39 A64 A41 A45 A68 A70 A66.1 Tranoï Café A47.1 A47 A49 A51 A53 ALBEROTANZA A27 FILIP + INNA A62 LEONARD WONG A19 ROBERT FRIEDMAN A34 ALBERTO FASCIANI A68 FREE LANCE - JEAN BAPTISTE RAUTUREAU A41.1 LINDSEY NICOLE A66 ROBERTO DEL CARLO A13.1 ALP011 PI CASHMERE A48 FURLAND - ANGELSSHARE A35 MAHA BARSOM A42 SALVATORE SANTORO A15 ALTO ITALIANO SHOWROOM SILENCE PEOPLE ITALIA, SONIA SPECIALE, MARILLA WAY A47 FURRY A27 MARTONE CYCLING CO.
