The 7th Annual Dullstroom Ladies Flyfishing Festival was held the weekend of 4 – 6 September 2015.
Many thanks for your generous donation of SECURETECH tow straps
The organisers would like to thank the venue owners for their generosity in allowing us to utilise
Egyptian Goose Dam at Bracherleigh Stud, Jurassic Pond at Timberlake Farm and Tintern Dam at
Millstream as well as all our sponsors and contributors.
36 ladies fished the competition and guest appearances were made by Sandy Eherenreich and Bernelee
Daniel. The event was an incredible success with all anglers, marshals, gillies and the organisers having
loads of fun.
Thank to Urban Hip and Critchley Hackle for kindly sponsoring the accommodation and breakfast for
our guests.
Amazing goodie bags were handed to each lady at registration on the Friday, upstairs at Mrs Simpson’s
Restaurant. Abbey Tooling sponsored the bags, Pressure Vessel Testers the Fleece and Hitachi Data
Systems and Mark White Nissan the shirts. Prizes were handed to every lady at the Prize Giving
Luncheon at Critchley Hackle, over and above the winning category prizes. Our contributors were

appreciated by everyone.
In total 67 fish were caught under incredibly trying fishing conditions, the weather was not kind to us
this year.

The Prizegiving Luncheon was held at Critchley Hackle on Sunday. Bernelee Daniel, Miss SA 1995, was
the guest speaker and gave a very interesting and entertaining talk on her reign as Miss South Africa.
There were 3 fishing sessions Saturday 06.30am to 10.00am, Saturday 14.00 to 17.30pm and Sunday
06.30am to 10.00am.
In 2014 we introduced the concept of two categories being Goose as the more experienced active
Angler and Gosling as the less experienced Angler that does not fish regularly. The results were as
follows (no one Angler could win more than 1 of these prizes.):

The event was a huge success and funds raised will be split amongst local charities, including Epilepsy
South Africa Dullstroom Branch, The Diana Institute – caring for abused and neglected children in
Sakhelwe as well as running the local Soup Kitchen, Dullstroom Bird of Prey and Rehabilitation Centre
etc.
