How to install MedDoc Footswitch driver
This is a detailed description of what steps have to be performed to ensure correct footswitch driver
installation under Windows® Vista.
1. Open device manager
- open start menu and click “Control Panel”:
- select „Hardware & Sound“:

- select „Device Manager“:
- confirm UAC-Message:

- connect Footswitch device to PC
- view the category “Ports” and “Universal Serial Bus controllers”
2. If an old device driver for “MES USB Footswitch” is already present, please uninstall it:
- uninstall the COM Port driver first by choosing “Uninstall” from the right-click context menu:
- select “Delete driver software for this device” and click “ok”

- uninstall the USB driver too:
- select “Delete driver software for this device” and click “ok”

- the device manager should now look something like this (no MES Footswitch device present):
3. Install proper driver
- unplug and reconnect Footswitch device
- the “Found New Hardware” Wizard appears
- select “Locate and install driver software”

- Browse to C:\MWS\Tools\USBIF and continue

- now the second part of the installation automatically starts:

4. Select Footswitch Port in MedDoc (Start/System/Device/Footswitch)
