Important - Orders & Deposits When you order your kit, we will ask for a £500.00* deposit regardless of how you would prefer your kit to be supplied. We recognise that some customers will not have, either the budget, or the space to accept delivery of the entire kit in one delivery. We will let your deposit roll. If you wish to order the Kit in - a - Box, or the Premium Kit, we will supply you with the components you want, when you want them (subject to notice, and delivery schedule). We will retain your deposit until the final parts delivery equals the full price that you have agreed to pay, and you will pay for the parts we deliver on each occasion, plus delivery charges. Engine Options IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING ENGINE CHOICES Whilst many customers would like to fit the engine from a Space Shuttle in their Cobra Replica, we regret to inform you that our chassis is only tried and tested to take engines up to 300bhp. Pilgrim Motorsports will not be held responsible for vehicles built with an engine above this limit, although we recognise that some customers may choose to modify their chassis in order to achieve this. Modifications are carried out at the sole risk to the end user. Many builders will make their own choices between new, remanufactured or reconditioned engines. Pilgrim Motorsports do not supply engines, although we will gladly supply you with some information to help you make the choice that’s right for you. Current IVA legislation requires that your engine is tested for emissions in line with the year of manufacture of the engine. It is essential that you are able to prove the age of your engine. Production cars from 1992 (K) onwards were required to be fitted with a catalytic converter. There has been some leniency towards the kit car industry allowing engines up to 1995 to be exempt from having a catalytic converter. If your engine is close to these dates you would be well advised to check the current ruling very carefully. This is particularly relevant if you are fitting a V6 engine from a late Ford Granada. The current emissions figures are available online. Ensure you are familiar with the differences between new, remanufactured and reconditioned. The last two can be mixed and matched by less scrupulous engine sheds, and it is as well to make sure you understand what has been replaced, changed or modified. Electrical Important Information about Instruments When considering which Instrument gauges to put in your car, it is important to remember that the gauge set you purchase must correspond with the electrical sensors you fit to the engine. Incorrect value sensors will give false readings and may result in damage to other components.
