The Foundation has partnered with RUSD to establish
the Innovation in Education Grant Program.
Funds raised during this year’s Live Auction “Raise Your Paddle” category will
be used to award grants to teachers and administrators for innovative ideas
in education. Our goal is to inspire our educators to design and develop new
approaches to teaching and learning. With necessary financial resources,
groundbreaking concepts can become a reality!
This process will encourage collaboration between teachers, principals and
administrators to create an enhanced learning environment.

The 2002 Insignia is full of black cherry jam and allspice aromas, with luscious notes of

palate with layer after layer of tannin, followed by a lengthy, textured finish containing sweet oak

2006 Two Worlds Red Wine Magnum
Cat Number 406
2006 Two Worlds Red Wine Magnum - This rare blend of 50% Egelhoff Napa Valley Cabernet
and 50% Two Hands Australian Barossa Valley Shiraz was conceived by two award wining
winemakers, Napa Valley's Bob Egelhoff and Australian winemaker Michael Twelftree. Aged in
60 gallon French oak barrels for 22 months, only 480 etched bottles were produced. With its
dark, ruby red color, the 2006 Two Worlds greets the senses with a floral bouquet of cherry
blossoms, plums, raspberry brulee and briar. On the palate ripe plums, briar and hints of spice
bring forth complex flavors that will continue to meld together with age. This is a wine to be truly
enjoyed in future years with the best of friends.

A bottle of 2001 Les Forts de Latour and a bottle of 2004 “The Bard” Cabernet
Sauvignon
Cat Number 407
Les Forts de Latour - . In recent years, no finer wine has been made in Bordeaux, for Latour
displays an uncanny combination of deep color; Cabernet-dominated flavors of dark berries,
licorice and minerals; the finest oak that money can buy; and great length on the aftertaste.
Score: Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: 90 points
2004 “The Bard” by Realm Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon- Without the boundaries inherent
in vineyard-designation, we are able to be more diverse in our blending - and take it as a poetic
exercise, honoring the Bard himself. Bottled unfined and unfiltered. Score: 94 points -Robert

2006 Beringer Private Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon
Cat Number 405
2006 Beringer Private Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon (93 points from Robert Parker). A big heat
wave in July was the salient weather factor in this vintage. The harvest began early and
continued for five weeks. Abundant smoke, chocolate, espresso roast, cassis and mocha
characteristics are found in this full-bodied, powerful, layered Cabernet. Although not quite as
seamless as the nearly perfect 2005 Private Reserve, it is a big, dense beauty from a somewhat
forgotten Napa Valley vintage. Give it 3-4 years of cellaring and drink it over the following two
decades or more.

AUCTION PROTOCOL
BIDDING
Upon check-in you will receive a bid paddle with your registered bid number, which must be used for the Silent and
Live Auctions. Each person issued a bid number assumes all risk and hazards related to the auction and items
obtained at the auction. Each bidder agrees to hold harmless the Foundation for Reed Schools (“Foundation”), its
elected and appointed officials, members and employees, the
auctioneer, the event organizers, sponsors and/or volunteers connected with the auction from any claims or liability
related to the auction and/or items obtained at the auction.
Silent Auction
•Each Silent Auction item will have a bid sheet. To enter a bid in the Silent Auction, you must include your name, bid
number and bid amount on the bid sheet. Minimum bids and raises outlined at the top of each bid sheet must be
honored every time you bid. A name without a registered bid number will not be honored.
•Each new bid must exceed the last bid by the minimum increment outlined at the top of the item’s bid sheet. Your
signature on the bid sheet constitutes a legal contract to purchase.
•Silent Auction tables will close at designated times outlined in the event catalog and posted on signs above each
auction category table. Additionally, category closing times will be announced the night of the event by auction staff.
Bid sheets must not be removed from their bidding locations except by auction staff. No bids will be accepted in a
section after it has closed. Winning bids will be identified by the auction staff and circled on the bid sheets at the
close of each category. All Silent and Live Auction items will be processed for check out at the end of the event.
Live Auction
•To enter a bid in the Live Auction, raise your bid paddle so that the auctioneer recognizes you and your bid number,
as well as your verbal bid price. “Sold” spoken by the auctioneer, indicates the winning bidder who is then obligated
to pay the closing bid price. A bid is registered only when formally recognized by the auctioneer. Auction spotters will
assist the auctioneer in accurate identification of the winning bidder.
•In the event of a dispute between bidders, the auction committee will have the sole and final discretion either to
determine the successful bidder or to re-offer and resell the item in dispute.
•Group bidding is permitted for large items and events. Each consortium must designate an authorized bidder whose
paddle will represent the group.
