Growing scientific studies have also concluded that the air within home and other buildings can be more polluted than the air we breathe outdoors. Two common sources of indoor air pollution is known to be urea formaldehyde emissions from composite wood products used in cabinetry and furniture, along with the volatile organic compounds found in finish coatings. Rutt is not only concerned about the air quality in your home, but the air our craftspeople and surrounding community breathe is of concern as well. We continually work with industry leaders in both the coatings and composite wood product sectors to test, implement, and promote new technologies that reduce the use of urea formaldehyde and VOC’s in our products. KCMA ENVIRONMENTAL STEWARDSHIP PROGRAM CERTIFICATION Rutt is proud to be certified by the Kitchen Cabinet Manufactures Association’s (KCMA) third-party ANSI accredited Environmental Stewardship Program (ESP). The ESP Program provides the only standards for manufacturers in the Kitchen and Bath cabinet industry that truly defines and measures the holistic environmental performance of a manufacturing enterprise—not just its end products.
