INDOOR AIR QUALITY
In the recent several years research has shown that people spend as much as 90 percent of their time
indoors. Growing scientific studies have also concluded that the air within home and other buildings
can be more polluted than the air we breathe outdoors. Two common sources of indoor air pollution
is known to be urea formaldehyde emissions from composite wood products used in cabinetry and
furniture, along with the volatile organic compounds found in finish coatings. Rutt is not only concerned about the air quality in your home, but the air our craftspeople and surrounding community
breathe is of concern as well. We continually work with industry leaders in both the coatings and
composite wood product sectors to test, implement, and promote new technologies that reduce the
use of urea formaldehyde and VOC’s in our products.
