In the middle of this past century, Phares Rutt founded his new custom cabinetry
company, drawing inspiration from artisans many centuries before him. Working from
a rustic workshop next to his home in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, Rutt produced
designs that were at once innovative and timeless—displaying uncompromising hand
craftsmanship unique to southeastern Pennsylvania’s Amish and Mennonite communities.
News spread quickly throughout the East, and the architecturally-styled cabinetry and
furniture-quality construction opened eyes to a new level of excellence. Rutt soon set
the new standard for custom cabinetry and carved out a unique position as the leading
manufacturer of luxury cabinetry.

High quality maple. White oak, rift-cut for a tight grain
pattern. Consistently superior mahogany. Fine cherry, protected
from harsh light before finishing. Poplar as our paint-grade
wood for its resistance to expansion and contraction. After
carefully hand matching the grain of your wood, we kiln dry
it to optimum moisture content. Only then do we begin to

the region’s blossoming furniture styles during the 17th and 18th
centuries. The beauty and romance of this cabinetry is nothing less
than magnificent, evoking excitement that could only come from the
cradle of French royalty.
Meticulous design reigns, from the extensive moulding detail
to the custom crafted turnings adorning the island. Rich cherry
over the range hood creates a bold centerpiece, bracketed by
double chambord mullion doors unique to Rutt—each pane
precisely hand cut and fitted.
