• Sewing machines available to use during classes at no charge.
• No slot shall be held without full payment at the time of registration.
• No registration will be held over the phone without VISA or M/C
payment. If you wish to send a cheque please include class details on a
separate piece of paper.
• No cancellation will be refunded within 7 days of the class.
• Classes have a minimum number of registrations in order to run.
If that number is not met the class will be cancelled with full refund.
• It is the responsibility of each registrant to acquire the pre class
instruction sheet and all supplies needed for the class.
Tips and Tricks
Needles & Threads $25.00 + GST
Friday March 30th, 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm
Discover the wide variety of needles and threads available for use in your
sewing and quilting. We will find out what needles need to be used with
which threads and why; play with a variety of techniques using assorted needles and threads, and look at both controlled stitching with a variety of feet
and free-motion work for quilting and embroidery. You must be able to lower
or cover the feed dogs on your machine for this. This will be a technique class
with several samples being the end result.

Bobbin Work or Cable Stitch $25.00 + GST
Friday April 13th, 9:30 am - 12:30 pm
Learn the technique that allows you to use thicker threads, fine yarns, and ribbon floss in your bobbin to embellish your garments and quilts. You can do
traditional straight and decorative stitching with your walking foot or you can
do a variety of free-motion stitching. You can even use your embroidery
machine with simple quilting motifs or redwork designs. You must purchase a
second bobbin case because we will be changing the bobbin tension as we
work. This class is suitable for a confident sewer willing to experiment with
new techniques. Samples will be made in class with tips and suggestions for
further projects.

Sewing with Knits - an Introduction $50.00 + GST
Wednesday March 21st, 9:00 am - 4:00 pm
Knits are quick and easy to sew. However, they do require some special handling. If you’ve had no formal instruction on working with knits, this class is a
must. Begin with information about knit fabrics, patterns and notions. Then
make a top and apply all the basics from layout and cutting to hemming. The
new Tee has a contoured, less boxy shape so proper fit will be an important
focus - the ‘stretch factor’, measurements and sizing, ease allowances for
stretch knits - everything you need to know to get a well fitting top that you’ll
be proud to wear. Project is a top with jewel neckline. Instruction handout
included.

Are you hard to fit? Do you hate trying on bathing suits? Then you won’t want to
miss this class. Sewing your own swimwear means that you can get what you
want for a fraction of the cost. If you’ve never made a swimsuit, you’ll make a
basic tank style where you’ll learn about stretch factor, pattern adjustments, correct
seam techniques and elastic application. If you’re experienced, you may wish to
try a more difficult design, add bra cups, lining, tummy panel or colour blocking.

Pants Fitting-Computer Drafted Pattern $105.00 + GST

Using your measurements and specialized software, Pat will print out a pattern
which is close to your unique body shape. Next, you will assemble the pattern
and cut and baste a fitting shell. Pat will help you refine the fit, giving you a
basic pants sloper which you can use for creating your own designs.

Successful zipper insertion is an essential sewing skill that is easy to
master with a little practice. This class will guide you through the steps
for three zipper techniques - lapped, invisible and fly, as you create a
sample book for future reference and receive helpful tips and hints to
make the process easy. Also featured is a professional, bulk-free finish

Fitting the Basic Blouse $100+ GST
Saturday June 9th, & 16th, 9:00 am - 4:00 pm
Do you love to sew but have difficulty getting a good fit? You will
learn and practice in half scale the common back, shoulder, bust, hip
and sleeve adjustments needed to ensure a good fit. Then take accurate measurements, identify fitting challenges and make initial adjustments to your pattern. Next, make a basic blouse or a shell. Finally,
alter the blouse and transfer any additional changes to your pattern.
You’ll have a great fitting blouse pattern AND you’ll know which
adjustments to make to all future patterns. Use this pattern as the basis
for simple drafting techniques to increase your repertoire of blouse patterns. Intermediate/ advanced sewing skills required. Instruction

Basic Machines - $50 each + GST
(These classes are free if you purchased from Triangle)
This is a 2 part class. You will learn the basics and get comfortable with your machine.
Learn how to use all the stitches and where to apply them. We will teach you what needles to use and when, how to spot improper bobbins, and what types of thread to use.
In this two session class you will learn how to do buttonholes, blind hems, mending,
overcasting and more. We will answer any questions you may have, giving you enough
confidence and knowledge to use your machine to it’s full potential.

This is a 2 part class. You will learn the basics and get comfortable with your
machine. Learn proper threading, using your needle threader, and how to use all
the stitches and where to apply them. We will teach you what needles to use, how
to spot improper bobbins and what types of thread to use. In this two session class
you will learn how to do buttonholes, blind hems, mending, overcasting and more.
We will answer any questions you may have, giving you enough confidence and
knowledge to use your machine to it’s full potential.

Learn to thread and serge with ease, tension, curves, corners, backstitching,
