2010 Tentative Program Schedule Minnesota Decoy & Wildfowl Carving Club Monthly Newsletter Volume 4, Issue 5 May 2011 April Meeting Minutes The April meeting was called to order by President Steve Stortz and a motion was made and passed to accept the minutes of the March meeting. Members are always amazed at how fast Marv can produce a fine working decoy. It’s so easy when you know how! Treasurer’s Report: Balance of $XXXX.XX. Donn Mattsson 952.935.6910 Librarian Todd Moucha 952.233.4038 New members: Al Larson, Dennis Knutson New Business: - Frank Beery volunteered to purchase wood supplies at the World Championship Show at Ocean City , MD this April. Members are welcome to submit orders. Frank is attending the show and will enter his decorative Lesser Scaup in the Novice class. Bob Plocinski is entering three songbirds ( 2 N. Cardinals and a Y.H. Blackbird) in the same show. Tom Flemming is entering 3 bird ―rig‖ of Long-tailed Ducks, plus a cocktail L.T. hen. Program: The May program will feature Marv Meyer showing us how he paints his hunting decoys with oil paints. Don’t be late for the program, because you may miss something because it doesn’t take Marv long to paint a decoy. Marv’s programs are always a highlight. Duck drake– finished 2010 TentativeVolume Program 4, Schedule Issue 5 Show & Tell con’t April program: MDWCC Auction Once again Marv Meyer performed the delicate duty of convincing MDWCC members that they couldn’t live without whatever he was auctioning at our annual Swap Meet/ Auction. Especially in the case of Dennis Finden who seemed to think everything looked good. As usual a number of members took some new ―treasures‖ home with them.
