Nakiska Safety
Nakiska and Resorts of the Canadian Rockies make every effort to ensure our ski resort meets the
required safety guidelines for extracurricular activities, as outlined by the Canada West Ski Areas
Association and school boards.
1.Helmets: All students on school sanctioned ski trips are required to wear helmets while
participating in an instructional program. Nakiska provides complimentary helmets as part of the
rental package.
2. Trained Staff: Nakiska instructors are accredited by one of the internationally recognized
governing bodies for ski/snowboard Instructors. Additional training has been provided to ensure
the instructors are familiar with the specific needs of school groups and the safety regulations
governing school trips.
3. Lessons: School group lessons at Nakiska include safety and instructional components. Our
programs are designed to address the specific skills required to participate in and enjoy a ski or
snowboard day in the mountains. During the lessons our instructors are responsible for the
supervision of the students.
