Explore African American history by experiencing the passage to freedom as
you travel the underground railroad with authors Jacqueline Tobin and Hettie
Jones in their book, "From Midnight to Dawn: The Last Tracks of the
Underground Railroad".
This was a perilous journey from the United States to Black settlements in
Canada. For those who made it to "Midnight", the code name given to Detroit,
the Detroit River became a "River Jordan" and Canada became their land of
"Canaan", the "Promised Land".
You are invited to read the book and join the discussion about this perilous
journey.
Copies of the book are available for checkout at the library "Circulation Desk".
Teens and Adults Welcome.
