The Swiss Arbeitgeber Award 2016
The Swiss Arbeitgeber Award 2016 A BENCHMARKING INITIATIVE BASED ON THE LARGEST AND MOST COMPREHENSIVE EMPLOYEE SURVEY IN SWITZERLAND DESIGNED AND MANAGED BY ICOMMIT SUPPORTED BY THE SWISS EMPLOYERS’ FEDERATION (SCHWEIZERISCHER ARBEITGEBERVERBAND), HR SWISS AND THE BUSINESS MAGAZINE BILANZ 1 2 3 The Swiss Arbeitgeber Award A CHANCE TO COMPARE YOURSELF WITH THE BEST AND INCREASE YOUR ATTRACTIVENESS TO EMPLOYEES What’s involved? The Swiss Arbeitgeber Award provides organisations in Switzerland and Liechtenstein with a unique chance to compare themselves as employers with the countries’ top firms. The employee survey underlying the Award serves as the basis for a comparison with other companies and reveals opportunities for internal optimisation. This is because your employees represent the best source of information for a detailed evaluation and assessment of your organisational conditions. Of the businesses taking part, the best employers in four categories based on the size of their workforce (50–99, 100–249, 250–999 and 1000 + employees) will receive the label “Swiss Arbeitgeber Award”. The survey, evaluation and benchmark comparison are carried out by icommit, one of Switzerland’s leading providers of employee surveys. A sign of the broad support enjoyed by the Swiss Arbeitgeber Award is the fact that it is supported by the Swiss Employers’ Federation (Schweizerischer Arbeitgeberverband), HR Swiss and the business magazine Bilanz. Survey design Switzerland’s largest survey of employees gives staff the chance to evaluate their employers. 6 You can gain a whole host of benefits from taking part in the Swiss Arbeitgeber Award: The employee survey allows your workforce to give a comprehensive evaluation of your organisational conditions and captures their perspective on your business (see the diagram below left). This provides you with a solid basis of information that you can use to develop your organisation further in cooperation with your employees. Thanks to the benchmarking process, you receive concrete details of how your organisation is positioned in relation to other businesses. You can publicise your organisation’s strengths in your corporate communications and use them for your employer branding. Any weaknesses, relative to other employers, can be tackled and improved in a targeted way. If you are ranked one of the top employers in the Swiss Arbeitgeber Award, you can use that designation in your HR marketing activities. A proven evaluation tool An easy-to-understand questionnaire gives your employees the chance to comprehensively evaluate your organisational conditions and to record their perspectives on your business. In addition, the statistical analysis identifies the importance attached to specific aspects relevant for employee satisfaction and commitment. In contrast to other surveys, what counts is the verdict of the employees themselves rather than an assessment by an external judging panel. The questionnaire is continually updated to take account of the latest developments in the world of work – while still providing data comparable with previous years’ results. The survey therefore takes accounts of the EFQM business excellence framework as well as academic research on the qualities found in “high-performance” organisations. If you already conduct employee surveys, you can transfer the findings into the evaluation for the Swiss Arbeitgeber Award and thereby benefit from a comparison with other leading Swiss organisations. Customised questionnaires and enhanced evaluation options The standard questionnaire can be supplemented with questions specific to your organisation. In addition, the evaluation model is designed to cover business divisions, departments and teams. A straightforward employee survey procedure The employee survey is conducted with the involvement of your HR department. A range of different documents provides assistance with the process. Your employees can complete the survey both online and on paper in any of ten different languages. The survey will involve either your entire workforce or a randomly selected sample. Meaningful results Every company receives a detailed results report showing how employees see and rate their current working situation. The informative report presents strengths and weaknesses in comparison with those of other organisations and in comparison with those found in your specific sector of activity and company size. The report also indicates those aspects of your organisational conditions that have an especially important influence on employee satisfaction and commitment levels. 8 Who carries out the survey? 9 The survey is conducted by icommit The Swiss Arbeitgeber Award is managed by icommit’s research and consulting team (www.icommit.ch). icommit ensures that the questionnaire is continually refined and handles both the evaluation and preparation of the results. In addition, icommit will be glad to support you, for example, with the presentation on the results for your management team or employees or with workshops in which your managers can analyse and consider the findings. Confidentiality guaranteed icommit conducts the employee surveys in accordance with the guidelines of ESOMAR (The World Association for Social, Opinion and Market Research). This ensures that the data are handled in conditions of absolute confidentiality. Testimonials from the winners 2015 1st prize (1000 + employees): CSL Behring AG, Bern Uwe E.
