Rand Road Arlington Heights, IL www.skunkhollowskiclub.com JULY 2012 HOLLOW HOLLER PAGE 2 THE SKUNKS ARE GOING CAMPING Where: Richard Bong Recreation Area Kenosha County, Wisconsin When: July 13 - 15 Cost: $20 State Park vehicle sticker ($10/day) We’re headed to the Richard Bong Recreation Area in Wisconsin to enjoy a weekend of summer fun. This is a basic BYO trip. Bring your own food and drink as well as gear. Located near Burlington, WI and about 70 miles from Chicago, the park has 4,515 acres with lots of activities for everyone. Campers can enjoy 16 miles of hiking trails, bike riding, a sand beach, swimming, fishing or just relaxing. Answer: Three—one to hold the map upside down, one to pull out a compass, and one to provide emotional support. (Seriously, the map is PRINTED upside down.) The forecast T-storms never materialized, and the day gradually blossomed into a picture postcard summer afternoon. Highlight of the day was a special exhibit housing hundreds of exotic butterflies in a tent filled with user friendly flowering plants. ACROSS THE POND When: Saturday, July 28th, High Noon Where: Toma Lee’s Chateaux on the Pond Cost: $25 Join us on Saturday, July 28th when we converge ‘Across The Pond’ for the Summer Olympic Games. We will again assemble teams to represent those often forgotten countries and do our best to accumulate those highly coveted Gold Medals in their honor! We will begin with our opening ceremonies and lunch, followed by our own Ooolympic Games. We will conclude with our awards, closing ceremonies and banquet. We provide – Lunch, Games, Dinner, Team T Shirt, and Awards You bring – Your own beverages, a Lawn Chair, and Snacks or a Dessert to share Sign up early to ensure your spot on a team – it only happens every 4 Years!
