This shouldn’t take much winning and it could be a good opportunity for THAHAB to pay back some of the fortune connections shelled out for him. Having cost a million euros, he could
only manage third in a couple of Doncaster maidens last back
end but they were tougher assignments than the one he is
faced with on his seasonal/all-weather debut. Richard Hannon’s
colt may have most to fear from Cloak And Degas, who finished third to a subsequent winner over 6f at Wolverhampton.
Roger Varian’s Marasim, a 100,000gns relative to six winners,
is surely capable of better than he showed when well beaten on
debut.

BERTIE BLU BOY held Invigilator by half a length when scoring over C&D and they could fight this one out, with the latter
reopposing on 2lb better terms. The winner wants marking up
for that success as he missed the kick and had to work hard to
get to the front so Lisa Williamson’s charge is taken to frank
the form, with a better start expected. Gung Ho Jack was back
in fourth that day but the handicapper looks to have his measure now after a hat-trick in February. Oscars Journey went
down by just a neck over this track and trip latest and is far
from out of the equation off 1lb higher.

It’s hard to look past the three-year-olds here. Emirates
Skywards finished ahead of a subsequent winner when runnerup at Haydock on his latest outing in October, but that was his
third silver medal in as many starts and he may have to play
second fiddle on his return to HAVISHAM. A 320,000-euro purchase and related to some smart sorts, he already looked in
need of further when beaten a length into third over 1m4f at
Kempton on his debut last month and should come on for that
run as well as the extra yardage. Katie Elder can win the battle
for third.
