The Largest Festival for Epilepsy in the World! Labour Day Weekend 2016 Friday, September 2nd to Monday, September 5th WOODBINE PARK, 1695 Queen Street East @ Eastern Ave., Toronto Buskerfest is Toronto’s widely successful International Street Performer Festival . Established in 2000 by Epilepsy Toronto, to increase awareness and knowledge of this affliction. The event creates a vibrant Entertainment experience that contributes to both Tourism and Economic Development . Spontaneous, Colourful and bursting with the unexpected, the Festival is a showcase for hundreds of the most spectacular street performers on earth! There’s something for Everyone! A myriad of Music, Clowns, Contortionists, Acrobats, Aerialists, Puppets, Fire and Hula Hooping, Silent Comedy and Slapstick, Daredevils and Magicians, Highly skilled Circus Acts and a few performances we have no words to describe! In 2000, attendance was 20,000. In 2015 attendance had grown dramatically to 1.7 Million visitors! Epilepsy is a condition of the brain characterized by recurrent seizures. It affects 1 in 100 people translating to over 300,000 Canadians. 40,000 of which are in Toronto. . Which is more than Multiple Sclerosis, Cerebral Palsy, Muscular Dystrophy and Parkinson’s Disease combined. Epilepsy can begin at any age. In most cases the cause is unknown and there is no cure. Epilepsy Toronto has been committed to bettering the lives of these people through support groups, programs, employment support, counseling and advocacy for over 50 years.
