Obituary WILLIAM BURTON (1938-2013) It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Bill Burton, formerly of Hillcrest, Alberta, who was called to be with the Lord on October 23, 2013 while receiving care at the Crowsnest Pass Health Care Centre at the age of 75 years. William Albert Burton was born on May 18, 1938 in Bellevue, Alberta to Ambrose and Ella Burton. He grew to appreciate this wonderful community with its majestic mountains and friendly people. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, light-hearted moments with friends and above all else, time spent with family. Bill was blessed with a family of his own and found true love with a lovely lady, Barbara, whom he married. His devotion and love for Barb and his family was admirable. Bill was a hardworking and caring man whom we will dearly missed, but gladly remember. May he be at peace. He is survived by his children, Jo-Anne (Randy) Nemirsky of Lamont, Patrick Burton of Edmonton and Jack (Maria) Burton of Sherwood Park; his step-children, Aaron (Kim) Miskulin and Nolan Miskulin; his grandchildren, Nicholas (Tanya) Mimerski, Daniel Nemirsky, Christopher Tichy, Robin Burton, Jennifer Burton, Shyan Burton, Tahya Burton, Neko McLean and Nakita McLean; several great grandchildren; his sister, Lily Burton of Coleman; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family; as well as the many friends he made throughout his lifetime. Obituary OSTROWSKI, Josephine March 22, 1926 - Vitebsk, Belarus October 18, 2013 - Calgary, Alberta Josephine passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Thursday, October 17, 2013 at the Bow-Crest Care Centre in Calgary at the age of 87 years. Josephine was born in a small village near Vitebsk, Belarus. Life was very difficult as she endured war and poverty. She met Karl during the war and they wed on July 14, 1945, in Belgium, Germany. Josephine and Karl immigrated to Canada in 1952 and settled in Coleman, AB to make a better life. There they raised their two daughters. Her greatest pleasures were working in her flower gardens, watching soap operas, and spending time with her feline friends. She will be greatly missed. Josephine is survived by her two daughters, Sue Ostrowski (Mary Fadi) and Jane Snider (Linda Torunski). She was predeceased by her husband Karl in 2004. Tuesday, October 29, 2013 - crowsnest PAss HerALD - 15 Obituary JACK PATTERSON (1952-2013) It is with immense grief and sadness that we must announce the passing of Jack Patterson of Coleman, Alberta who died at his residence on October 16, 2013 at the age of 61 years. He was a wonderful man who loved his family, his friends and this community. John Albert Patterson was born on October 16, 1952 in Blairmore, Alberta to parents, Jack & Peggy Patterson. He was always a reserved and meticulous young man who enjoyed playing hockey, golf and traveling. Jack fell in love with a lovely young lady, Lesley Dawne Sedgman, and they were married. He was blessed with a family to care for and was a devoted father who did his best to be involved in their lives. Jack took pride in his work and gained employment with the Saratoga gas plant, the local golf course and most recently, working for the Municipality of the Crowsnest Pass as the Safety Coordinator. His integrity, compassion and devotion will be forever admired. He enjoyed many fine moments in his life and suffered many challenges and strife but through it all he will be fondly remembered and cherished by his family, friends and members of our community. Jack will live in our hearts always. Those left to mourn his passing and celebrate his life include his best friend, Lesley Patterson of Calgary, AB; his step-children, Tracy McGuire of Cranbrook, BC and Mick McGuire of Edmonton, AB; his sister, Lenore (David) Northey of Lethbridge, AB; his nephew, Jesse Northey of Lethbridge, AB; his niece, Ashley Northey of Lethbridge, AB; and his extended family and loyal friends.
