Neighbors Helping Neighbors
A neighborhood like
neighborhoods used to
be. That’s not just our
motto here at All Saints,
it’s our way of life.
This month some of the
ladies in the apartments
decided to try a new
craft project and made a
lovely tie blanket. After
it was finished, they
lovingly gave it to Don
and Lorraine Stanek.
In recent months

Lorraine was very
appreciative to receive the blanket. Thank you, ladies, for
sharing your time and talents to create this thoughtful
gift. You’re all great examples of neighbors supporting and
encouraging each other!
Welcome Donna Malaise
We are very pleased to welcome Donna Malaise to the All Saints family as our new
Community Relations Coordinator! Donna is a long-time Madisonian with over
20 years of marketing and admissions experience in the senior living industry. She will
be overseeing the Neighborhood admissions process, building strong relationships with
community referral sources, prospects and their families. Welcome Donna!
Happy Valentine’s Day!
The day was filled with fun and laughter as residents in the apartments played their own version of the
Newlywed Game and assisted living residents had a ball with a Valentine photo booth.
A Way to Get Involved
Connecting the Campus
We’re getting closer to connecting the campus!
Construction has begun on the skywalk
that will connect the existing independent
apartments to the brand new Main Street
Apartments, due to open in summer. It will be
so convenient to stroll across the skywalk
to the Main Street dining venues, greenhouse,
and chapel!
The All Saints expansion project will add new
dimensions to the neighborhood. We want these new
areas to have an atmosphere that will provide both a
sense of community and shared enjoyment. We are
inviting individuals and families to help create these
spaces through our Family Heritage Recognition
Program, which will enable you to make a gift toward
a number of unique elements that will enhance our
campus including:
• A Flag Pole
• Water Features
• Stained Glass
• Chapel Features and Décor
We encourage you to consider participating in the
Family Heritage Recognition Program. Watch for
more detailed information in future issues, and thank
you for your support of All Saints Neighborhood.
A Delicious Pancake Breakfast
Two to three times a year the
Apartments Resident Council hosts
a pancake breakfast. What could be
better than great company and delicious
food! The money raised goes toward
entertainment, flowers for the outdoor
gardens, and donations to various
community organizations.
Special Visitors
The 5th grade students from St. John’s Catholic School in Waunakee visited the assisted living residence
earlier in February. What a joy it was to have the students participate in Mass with Father Tafadzwa
Kushamba from St. Maria Goretti Parish and help with crafts and games!
Bowling a 300!
HeartStrings to Return!
We just got word this month that All Saints will again be part
of the HeartStrings program through the Madison Symphony
Orchestra! These wonderful interactive presentations bring
amazing music into healthcare and residential facilities.
All Saints was a partner back in 2014, so we’re thrilled to
have them return for their 2016-17 season!
Enjoying a Taste of Spring
It was such a treat to have beautiful fresh flowers in the
middle of winter! Kayce Anderson from Felly’s Flowers
on Mineral Point Road demonstrated floral arranging
at the assisted living residence. Nancy and Jim Aldrich,
daughter and son-in-law of resident Jerry Hiegel,
own one of the Felly’s shops here in Madison, and
they organized the event and generously donated the
beautiful flowers. Many thanks to Nancy, Jim and Kayce!
Congratulations to Lois Brustman
for bowling a 300 recently! What
an accomplishment! Wii bowling
is popular at the apartments, with
about 25 people playing on 5 teams.
A couple times each year, students
from Edgewood High School in
Madison
come to
volunteer
and bowl
with some
of the
seniors, and
the seniors
usually win!
