This trip includes a tour of the Winding Brook Estate, lunch in the Tea Room and a stop at the exclusive

Come learn from the Balloons Masters at Way Cool Balloons the basics of balloon art! You

Living History Tour & Cruise on the Spirit Peoria
A trip back in time to Upper Alton - Pie Town, Illinois. Upper Alton is a small historic district located
about two miles northeast from Alton’s downtown business district. The tour will include stops at many
historic homes of the area. From there it is a cruise on the Spirit of Peoria! This 2 hour cruise on the
Mighty Mississippi includes all you can eat buffet.

Mini Triathlon
Test your endurance with the seventh annual SGCCC Mini Triathlon. This sprint triathlon accommodates
the novice participant and still gives the experienced participant a challenge. The race consists of a 150 yard
swim in our indoor pool, 9 mile bike over hilly and scenic terrain, and a 3 mile run that is sure to have your
hamstrings aching by the end! Begins and ends at the Ste. Genevieve Community Center. Participants will
start every ten seconds via serpentine swim staggered according to predicted 150 yard swim time. Participants are REQUIRED to wear a helmet and must bring their own bike and any other equipment needed to
participate.

Safety Town
This interactive program familiarizes kids with professionals in the fire, police, med-evac fields and teaches
them steps to stay safe in many situations. There is a different activity every day from exploring an Arch
Helicopter, presentation from police officers and much more! Check back closer to the start of Safety
Town for a detailed schedule of each day.

Guitar and More
Want to learn to jam music for fun? Break out your guitar, banjo, mandolin, dobro, bass or fiddle and
learn to play. This course will introduce the beginner to fundamentals of your instrument and teach applied music theory to play songs. Any age and skill level on any of these instruments are welcome. The
course will focus on your individual interest and skill level to get you playing the music you want to play.
Most importantly, learn to have fun with music! Don’t have an instrument but want to learn, that’s okay!

Designed for boys and girls ages 5-12, our camp is the best way to provide a safe and fun summer for your
child. Qualified counsellors will guide your child throughout all of the camp activities and provide a positive atmosphere for the whole summer. This is a great way for kids to socialize and make friends while
also learning. Kids will get the chance to do arts and crafts, play organized games in our gym, swim in our
indoor pool, and much more! We will have special ice-cream sundae days, crazy dress up days, popcorn and
a movie on Fridays, time on our Bounce House and our Inflatable Slide, guest speakers and of course, field
trips! Every Wednesday we will have an extra special activity for the campers to participate in. Sessions are
for a one week period. Plus, new this year, breakfast and lunch will be provided to all campers free of charge
thanks to the East Missouri Action Agency.

Do you only need to send your kids to camp for four days a week the whole summer and not five? Below
is what we offer for sending kids to camp for 2-4 days a week. You must sign up your kids for at least two
weeks of camp in one transaction in order to take advantage of this offer and must know what specific days
out of the camp week your kids will be attending. Extra fees may be added if your child is attending during a field trip week. Any changes to what specific days of the week they will be attending must be made no
later than the Friday before. Any last minute changes will be assessed a $5 penalty per child.

All classes are taught by certified instructors on Spinner bikes. Burn hundreds of calories during this cycling inspired
class, which combines sound training principles, music and a unique mind/body philosophy. Spinning is designed to
fit participants of all abilities and provides the tools you need to achieve your health and fitness goals.

Biometrics is a proven fitness and weight
management program that combines nutrition and
fitness, with no gimmicks, pre-packaged foods, pills
or supplements. Six-week and twelve-week options
are available to stimulate weight loss by combining

Summer gets busy and workouts fall by the wayside, but we have an incentive to keep you motivated and
making sure you get a good sweat in a couple times a week! Use your punch card or sign up for a spinning
class and throughout Session 1 and 2 of our Summer classes, track the number of miles you have biked
and get rewarded. Easy as that! Every 125 miles you bike you get a $5 coupon off a future spinning class.
The top two overall bikers with the highest accumulated miles both get one free spin class! Just pick up

By practicing Pilates’ controlled moves and steady

Core Conditioning*
Zumba is a cardio dance workout that is full of Latin
flair and flavor! You are sure to have a blast and work
up a sweat with this high-energy cardio workout. The
dance styles in Zumba consist of salsa, meringue, chacha and reggaeton. Simplicity is the key in Zumba and
this fitness program is accessible to people of all exercise levels. This class does include some aspects of
Zumba Toning.

Power Plus*
This combo class is designed for all fitness levels to
help you gain muscular strength and cardiovascular
endurance using all types of equipment.
This total body barbell workout is resistance training set to dynamic music. PowerFlex is designed
specifically for those individuals who perceive
weight training as tedious and boring; and for those
particular women who are intimidated by weight
training equipment believing they will develop big,
bulky bodies. It increases body composition – less
fat – more lean muscle. It will increase metabolism,
burn more calories all day long due to less fat and
more muscle; and it improves body tone, muscle

Starfish Swim School
Ste. Genevieve County Community Center is an independent authorized provider of Starfish Swimming.
Starfish Swimming is a nationally recognized swim instruction curriculum developed by the Starfish Aquatics Institute (SAI). Learn more about SAI at www.starfishaquatics.org.
The Starfish Swimming curriculum is designed for students ages 6 months to adult. Benchmarks are established at each stage in the program that combine both swimming and safety skills. Students participate in
experiential learning activities that allow them to explore the water in a creative and comfortable environment. Correct swimming techniques are taught from the very beginning, providing an easy transition to
swim team.
Class size is limited to assure swimmers the individual attention needed. Each session includes eight half
hour lessons. Classes are held on Saturdays. Individuals will be contacted with exact meeting time before
classes start.

Private Swim Lessons
Private swim lessons: Private swim lessons are available for all ages by appointment. Certified instructors work one-on-one with the participant to develop and fine-tune swimming abilities. The fee is $45
for five half-hour sessions for members, $57 for non-members. Call the aquatics director for information and to set up lesson times.
Semi private swim lessons: These lessons are great for families or friends that have two children around

weather, the SGCCC
reserves the right to
cancel classes. Participants will be called using the home phone
listed under their account name.
Insurance - Just What You Need To Know
The Ste. Genevieve County Community Center
assumes no liability for injuries that may be
incurred by participants in programs or use of
facilities. Users are urged to provide adequate
medical insurance coverage and be aware that
expenses incurred for medical treatment or care
are to be borne by the individual participant.
Please make sure you are in good condition for
those activities which require physical exertion.
Supervision
With the exception of Tot Drop,
and specific programs, SGCCC is not
staffed to provide individual child supervision. Children under the age of
10 must be accompanied by an adult
at all times.
General Information
Rentals & Parties
Up to 3000 square feet of ideal space for business meetings, seminars, showers, reunions, etc.
• Full payment is due in order to hold the room. A separate check in the amount of $50
for a security deposit (will be returned after the rental, provided the rental space is left
in good condition).
• If renting both rooms, they can be used together or divided into two smaller rooms.
• Meeting Room #1 has a full functioning kitchen for an additional fee.
• A television, VCR/DVD player, slide projector, overhead projector, multimedia projector, projection screen, podium, and microphone are all available for use with the space
for an additional fee.
Fitness Center Policy
Children under the age of 14 are not allowed in any area of the
fitness center without parent/guardian.
Those between the age of 14-16 must take the Fitness Orientation in order to use the fitness area and have a signed permission form by a parent/guardian.
In the fitness area guests must wear close-toed, rubber-soled
shoes at all times.
Appropriate workout attire required when using the fitness area
including no cutoffs, no jeans, and no swimsuits.
SGCCC staff will clean equipment on a regular basis, but please
be courteous and wipe down machine after each use.
General Guidelines
Food, drink and glass containers are
not allowed in the gymnasium or
natatorium. Shoes must be worn at
all times.
SGCCC is not responsible for lost,
stolen, or damaged personal items.
NO admittance will be given to anyone under the influence of alcohol
or other intoxicating substances.
Any patron causing damage to the
facility because of inappropriate use
will be held financially responsible.
NO profane language.

Complete details of program policies, procedures, and
guidelines are sometimes omitted from the program
brochure due to space limitations. Also, errors in days,
times, registration requirements and fees may occur in the brochure. We thank you for your patience
and understanding should these situations arise. Since
some people like to find errors, we regularly include a
few in our publication to meet this need.
