Dear Friends of the Key,
The Key Committee is so looking forward to seeing everyone
again at the 14th Annual Key. As always, you’ll see many
familiar items and games of chance as well as many fresh
ideas.
Last year was the debut of our new “mobile bidding” on all of
the silent auction items. Many have asked what exactly we
accomplished by joining with Qtego to enable us to bid on our
cell phones. The obvious anticipated and realized changes was
the elimination of bid cards, the cumbersome and time
consuming bookkeeping, and trying to notify the winning
bidders as quickly as possible. What we didn’t see coming was
the increase in the number of items for sale by 26% and
increasing the number of people bidding by 150%! These two
unanticipated effects resulted in another record breaking Key
event.
Many ask us how we come up with so many new and different
items every year. The Key Committee spends almost as much
time going over the results of each Key event as they do
preparing for it. By analyzing all of the data, we identify what
sells well each year versus which items struggle to bring value.
Each committee member relives the evening to come up with
ways to keep the evening at a fast pace, without anyone feeling
rushed. We start on the next year’s Key immediately
following the current year’s event by listening to our guests
for suggestions and accepting donations.
We think we’ll pique your interest again this year with an
emphasis on variety, uniqueness and a wide range of prices.
With trips to Ireland, southern California and Barbados, we
will grab the attention of the travelers in the crowd. Concert
goers will have the opportunity for tickets to big name stars
such as Garth Brooks and Bette Midler. Sports fans will be
interested in the several Husker packages and the VIP tickets
to the NCAA volleyball championship. And for the “techies”,
we’re offering two of the new curved televisions and a couple
of Apple watches available for winning bidders.
Please take time to read through this catalog and visit our
website. Notice the incredible number of volunteers willing to
help with this four-day event. Pay particular attention to the
businesses and individuals listed as donors of items and as
Key Friends. These names represent where this evening truly
begins.

Welcome to Key 2015! Thank you so much for coming
and for your extraordinarily generous support of this
event and the Lexington Community Foundation. We
can calculate the total dollars given to various projects
from Key proceeds over the years, but we will never
know the positive effect those projects will have on this
community for generations to come. Proceeds this year
will help complete the Majestic Theater, fund
Foundation Board Initiatives, and provide matching
funds while covering donor fees for Give Big Lexington.
You, our patrons, created this foundation and continue
to guide and support its mission. You have
accomplished so much together, and tonight we
celebrate collaboration and community. This evening is
about philanthropy, but it is also about fellowship and
fun. We sincerely hope you enjoy the Key!

The Live Auction will begin at 8:00 p.m. and
will continue until all Live Auction items have
been auctioned. Live Auction items will be on
display from 5:00 - 9:00 p.m. at the Friday, May
1st Preview Night and at 5:00 p.m. until the end
of the evening Saturday, the night of the Key.
The Live auction will be conducted in the same
manner as it has been done in the past. You
will be issued a bid number that will
correspond to the number you entered at
registration. Your total amounts purchased on
the live auction will be added to the totals from
silent auction and raffle chance purchases.
To enter a bid, raise your Bid Number high
enough to attract the attention of the
auctioneer. Bid Takers will be available to
watch for bids and call out bids to the
auctioneer. You are responsible for all bids
made on your behalf.

Silent Auction tables will be open for viewing from
5:00 - 10:00 p.m. at the Friday night preview and at
5:00 p.m. Saturday, the night of the Key. The Silent
Auction tables will close at 8:00 and 10:00 p.m.

There are no Guaranteed Purchase options for

1. All sales are final, and there will be no
exchanges or refunds on items except where
specified.
In most cases all items and services must be
used within one year.
2. Use only the Bid Number registered to you. This
is your number for bidding purposes, and you
are responsible for any bid made with your

3. You will receive a text message if you have
made a successful bid. If the successful bidder
previously signed up for Express Checkout,
simply display their winning bid notification to

donors make NO express or implied warranties

After 17 years, Garth Brooks is coming back to
Nebraska and will play CenturyLink. Although
he retired for eight years, in December 2009, he
began a five-year concert deal with the Encore
Hotel and Casino on the Las Vegas Strip.
Following the conclusion of his residency in
Las Vegas, Brooks announced his signing with
Sony Music Nashville and in September 2014,
he began his comeback world tour. His most
recent album, Man Against Machine, was
released on November 11, 2014 via his new

Bowl appearances in the 1970s, and is generally
considered the best center of his era. He was
