OUR MISSION
Our mission is to fund research at
Boston Children’s Hospital that will aid
in the treatment and cure of pediatric heart
defects...specifically, research on tissue engineered
heart valves. This is one of the greatest hopes
for reducing the number of open heart surgeries
over the course of a child’s life...also reducing
the risks associated, from developmental
impairment to death. Tissue engineered
heart valves will be an exponential leap
in the survival and quality of life for children
born with life threatening heart defects.

To place a bid in either the live or silent auction,
you must first register. Upon registration, your
name and address will be verified and you will be
given an auction book, with your bid number
posted on the back of the book. Use this bid number for bidding in both the live and silent auctions.
The auction committee reserves the right to add
or withdraw, without notice, items to or from the
auction.
Highest bidder must contact auction donor
to arrange and redeem auction items. Healing
little Hearts, Boston Children’s Hospital and all
volunteers involved are not responsible for any
redemption details regarding the auction items
purchased. Please read all restrictions and expiration dates before bidding.
Successful bidders will pick up their merchandise
the night of the gala, after payment. Special arrangements can be made for larger items. Payment is to
be made in full, by cash, check (made out to:
Boston Children’s Hospital), Visa, Mastercard or
American Express.

Each item will be described by the auctioneer and
a starting bid will be given. To enter a bid during
the live auction, you must raise the back of your
auction book to attract the auctioneer’s attention
so he can see your bid number. This must be done
every time you initiate or increase a bid.
The auctioneer reserves the right to reject any bid
that, in his opinion, does not commensurate with
the value of the offered item.
Each bid legally obligates the bidder to pay the price
in full if that price is deemed the high bid when the
auctioneer calls “SOLD.” The buyer will be presented
with a bid sheet for signature to include their bid
number and the price of the items purchased.
Winning bidders will be announced and can
retrieve their items at checkout.
SILENT AUCTION RULES
To place a bid in the silent auction, simply write
your name, bid number and bid amount on the
appropriate line of the bid sheet. All bids must be in
at least a minimum of $20 increments or the bid
will not be counted. Bids must be listed below previous bid. To increase your bid, write your bid number and your new amount below the last entry.
Bidders do not have to take the next available bid
amount, but may skip ahead on the form and put
in their preferred purchase amount. Subsequent
bidders must bid higher amounts to be successful.
The silent auction will close in a staggered fashion
by sections listed in the auction book, with the final
categories closing at approximately 8:45 p.m. There
will be notice given before each section closes.
No additional bids will be accepted once the
“auction closed” announcement has been made.
The last signature (and the highest valid bid) on the
bid sheet will determine the winning bid. Please do
not remove bid sheets, items or props from the tables.
All winning bidders can retrieve their items at
checkout. CHECK-OUT BEGINS 30 MINUTES
AFTER SILENT AUCTION CLOSES.
