innovative mixture of lectures and hands-on workshops on practical
and administrative processes.

to unveil the Faculty Development Track. This unique learning opportunity
is the first of four programs which will train current and prospective core
faculty members to incorporate research into their skill set. Participants
will learn how to formulate and develop research concepts while
determining the best methodologies for grant writing and publication.
This four-part course will increase the value of a core faculty member
and provides resources and information which can be utilized within your
program. The Faculty Development Track is an invaluable tool as we
prepare for a single pathway for GME accreditation.

Keynote Speaker
Alexander M. Rosenau, DO, CPE, FACEP, FACOEP
President, American College of Emergency Physicians
Faculty Bios
ACOEP is pleased to welcome American College
of Emergency Physicians President Alexander M.
Rosenau, DO, CPE, FACEP, FACOEP, as the keynote
speaker. Dr. Rosenau is an Associate Professor
of Medicine at Morsani College of Medicine at the
University of South Florida. Dr. Rosenau completed his residency in
emergency medicine at Botsford General Hospital in Farmington Hills,
Michigan and is the founding program director of the Lehigh Valley
Hospital and Health Network emergency medicine residency program
where he is currently the Senior Vice Chair of emergency medicine. In
addition, he previously served as president of Pennsylvania ACEP and is a
past recipient of U.S. Public Health Service National Health Service Corps
Achievement and Commendation awards.
Fredrick M. Abrahamian, DO, FACEP, FIDSA is the Director of
Education at the Olive View-UCLA Emergency Medicine Residency
Program and serves as the President-Elect of the Professional Staff
Association at Olive View-UCLA Medical Center. Dr. Abrahamian’s
research has been published in journals such as The New England
Journal of Medicine, Clinical Infectious Diseases, and Annals of
Emergency Medicine. He has written multiple chapters for infectious
disease and emergency medicine textbooks.
Kenneth H. Butler, DO, FACEP, FAAEM is the Associate Program
Director of the Emergency Medicine Residency Program at the University
of Maryland where he also holds the academic title of Associate
Professor in Emergency Medicine. Dr. Butler is an internationally
recognized expert in airway management and a faculty member of
the Practice Emergency Airway Management Seminar. He has written
multiple textbook chapters on emergency medicine and was awarded
the Associate Residency Director of the Year from EMRA and ACEP.
Christopher Colbert, DO is a native of Washington DC and graduated
from the Des Moines University School of Medicine and the Chicago
College of Osteopathic Medicine. He is a major in the United States Army
and works at Provident Hospital of Cook County. He is also a Clinical
Associate Professor at MWU where he completed his Emergency
Medicine Residency.

Marianne Gausche-Hill, MD, FACEP, FAAP is a Professor of Clinical
Medicine and Pediatrics at David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA.
Dr. Gausche-Hill is the Vice-Chair of the Department of Emergency
Medicine, Chief of the Division of Pediatric Emergency Medicine, and EMS
and Pediatric Emergency Medicine Fellowship Director at Harbor-UCLA
Medical Center in Torrance, CA.
Robert L. Hunter, DO, FACOEP, FACOFP is currently the Associate
Medical Director at Hospice of Miami Valley and is a clinical associate
professor at Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine,
a preceptor for Kettering College of Medical Arts Physician Assistant
Program, and assistant director of the Emergency Medicine residency
at Grandview. Dr. Hunter practices at Buckeye Family Practice in Huber
Heights and Grandview Medical Center.
Heath A. Jolliff, DO, FACMT, FACEP, FAAEM is a Clinical Professor
of Emergency Medicine at OUCOM/OhioHealth-Doctors Hospital
in Columbus, Ohio. He practices Medical Toxicology at Mid-Ohio
Toxicology Services in Columbus, Ohio.
Bryan Kane, MD, FACEP is an Associate Professor of Medicine, Morsani
College of Medicine. Dr. Kane also serves as the Assistant Program
Director: Research for the Emergency Medicine Residency at Lehigh
Valley Health Network.
Kevin Klauer, DO is the Director of the Center for Emergency Medical
Education (CEME) and the Chief Medical Officer for Emergency Medicine
Physicians, Ltd., based in Canton, Ohio. He also is the Director of EMP
PSO (patient safety organization). He serves on the Board of Directors for
Physicians Specialty Limited Risk Retention Group. He is an Assistant Clinical
Professor at Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine.
Jeffrey Kline, MD serves as Vice Chair of Research in emergency
medicine and a professor of physiology at Indiana School of Medicine.
His diagnostic research interests focus on human affect analysis, pretest
probability and capnography to reduce medical imaging. His main
research interest is pulmonary embolism, and he is one of the world’s
leading researchers in this arena.
Salim Rezaie, MD is a faculty member at the University of Texas Health
Science Center in San Antonio, Texas in both departments of emergency
medicine and internal medicine. He runs his own blog R.E.B.E.L. EM
(www.rebelem.com), has made some appearances on EM:RAP, and
frequently contributes to EP Monthly.

Anand Swaminathan, MD is an Assistant Professor of Emergency
Medicine and the Assistant Residency Director and the NYU Bellevue
Emergency Department. He is the co-creator of the EM Lyceumblog, an
educational website focusing on debatable areas in EM and one of the
founders of the All NYC EM Conference and Podcast.
Kevin Weaver, DO is the program director for the Lehigh Valley Health
Network emergency medicine residency program. He has lectured
nationally on the application of evidence-based medicine in clinical
practice and therapeutic hypothermia.
Teresa Wu, MD, FACEP is the Director for the Emergency Medicine
Ultrasound Program and Fellowship, and the Associate Residency
Director for the Emergency Medicine Residency Program at Maricopa
Medical Center in Phoenix, Arizona. She is also the Co-Director for
Simulation Based Training for the Maricopa-Banner integrated simulation
program, and an Associate Professor in Emergency Medicine at the
University of Arizona, College of Medicine-Phoenix.
