DETAILS The Keewatin was built for the Canadian Pacific Railway, in Govan, Scotland. Delivered to the Overall length: 350 feet Great Lakes in 1907, this lovely steamer was Beam: 43.8 feet Depth: 26 feet to the upper Lake Superior railheads. She is the Draft: 16 feet last of the Great Lakes Passenger Steamships Gross tonnage: destined to make history. For over 60 years she served as the “railway” connecting Georgian Bay still afloat. Top speed: 16 knots Cruising speed: 14 knots Passenger: HISTORY Officers and Crew: • Built by Fairfield Shipbuilding and Engineering Co.,Ltd., Govan, Scotland. Engines: • Sailed her maiden voyage from Greenock, Scotland, September 14, 1907, arriving in Montreal, Canada, September 23, 1907. • Arrived home to Port McNicoll on June 23, 2012. quadruple expansion, with hand stoked coal-fired and Scotch boilers, producing 3,300 horsepower.
