Engine Overview
In July 2004, Samsung® announced the release of its newest family of monochrome laser printers, the ML-2250, ML-2251NP and ML2252. The different models are distinguished by connectivity variations. All other printer features are identical. This printer family
features an especially small footprint, an attractive, smudge-resistant gloss case finish and a contemporary industrial look that distinguishes it from the competition. These printers are targeted towards small to medium sized businesses and are priced competitively,
starting at a suggested retail of $299. All models offer 22 ppm and up to a 30,000 monthly duty cycle. The ML-2250 is ideal for personal and home-office use, although it is noted to produce poor quality graphic prints.
This family of printers is not meant to serve as photo printers but more of as everyday workhorses. There are two multifunction
machines based on this engine, the Samsung® SCX-4720f and DellTM 1600n. MFPs use the same cartridge as the ML-2250, the main
difference being the chip located on the front of the cartridge.

SCC’s PrintdetectTM Samsung® chip functions identically to the OEM chip and meets OEM performance and page yield expectations. Additional auto-detect programming enables the

Wiper Blade
SCC’s replacement wiper blade for the ML-2250 is constructed of a stamped metal base and Mylar®
blade with cleaning felt, and is system-matched for use with the previously released SCC toner and
drum. Replacing the wiper blade with cleaning felt is recommended to maintain OEM-like performance.

Doctor Blade
SCC’s new replacement doctor blade for the ML-2250 reduces production time and costs. The new blade and
sealing foams eliminate costly rework resulting from the post-test discovery of print defects. Removal of the sealing foams and cleaning of the doctor blade for reuse cannot guarantee proper function of the doctor blade in
subsequent cartridge cycles. Replacing the doctor blade and sealing foams is recommended to maintain OEMlike performance. Common doctor blade failures include:
• Vertical streaking
• Toner starvation
• Tire tracking/Sand duning

Developer Roller
SCC now offers aftermarket developer rollers for use in Samsung® ML-2250 series cartridges and compatibles.
Remanufacturing these Samsung® toner cartridges without replacing a worn or damaged developer roller is likely to produce print defects. Post testing is required in most instances as defects on the developer roller may not be visible to the
naked eye. SCC’s developer rollers achieve excellent image density and page yield, allow remanufacturers to utilize
their expensive Samsung® cores, and reduce the likelihood of rework. The hard rubber developer rollers are designed
for use with non-magnetic toner.
