The last scheduled aerotow for the year was held on October 3rd at Willamette Turf. The
turnout was light, but those who did fly enjoyed sunny skies with a northerly breeze and
some huge thermals we so often experience at Willamette Turf.
Towing duties were handled by Martin Baumer who has saved the day for us at least
three times this year when Bob Beardsley was not able to make it out. Thank you—thank
you!!
Well, now’s the time to get started on that scale glider project for next year in order to
enjoy a great soaring experience flying aerotow.

Clear skies greeted us for the last scheduled contest of the year. A cool breeze out of the
NE was also with us keeping the large strong thermals away. Out of the 12 Man-on-Man
rounds we did not have two pilots max at the same time. The lead changed hands several times – it came down to the last two rounds to decide the eventual victor. Here are
the results:

For next year, there are some discussions about have a “team ALES” event as well as possibly having a Radian category. Please let me know your ideas. Thanks.

With the exception of Rippin' Thermals (Eugene) all contests are held at Willamette Turf Farms.
