You know technology has come a long way. In fact, the difference between
today’s bows normally boils down to simple geometry: If you measure
the brace heights, the axle to axle lengths, take into account mass weight
and compare the draw force curves, you’ll find that with the exception of
a few cosmetic variations, there’s very little difference between one
manufactures top bows versus another.
There is however, a big difference between bow manufactures.
This difference is not something you’ll ever read about in a magazine
advertisement or see on a television commercial. This difference has to do
with how a manufacture stands behind its products; this difference has to
do with a manufacture’s dedication to detail; this difference has to do with
a manufacture’s commitment to excellence. This difference is called

are very similar in design to Bear Archery products. And all though we

KODIAK MAGNUM

odeled after the famous Kodiak bow, the Kodiak
Magnum was first introduced in 1961 as a bow
hunters dream due to its short length and easy
maneuverability. The design stuck and it has been around
ever since.
This year marks the 50th anniversary of the famous Kodiak
Magnum. In honor of this historic event we put everything
back into this bow, so it would be a near perfect match
to the original. The high leather classic side plate is back
along with the silver medallion. Good luck telling this apart
from one of 50 years ago.

SUPER KODIAK
N
ineteen sixty seven marked the end of an era and
the beginning of a new one at Bear Archery, after
17 years of production the Super Kodiak replaced
the very popular Kodiak line of bows.
The excitement built around this bow was so great that a
1967-1/2 catalog was printed just to introduce this new
bow. The same design and craftsmanship has stayed true
over the past 44 years making this bow a legend just like
the man who once mastered it.

SUPER KODIAK
Construction
The 3-piece riser construction of the Super Kodiak is
made from exotic bubinga wood. Limbs are overlaid
with clear maple and backed and faced with high
strength “Grayling Green” fiberglass. Tips are
handcrafted with layered green and white fiberglass
allowing the use of today’s modern bow strings.
Fred used this model bow for many years on quests for
African lion, cape buffalo, Alaskan polar bear and the
British Columbia grizzly bear. Still to this day the Super
Kodiak is one of the smoothest, finest shooting bows
available.

t is hard to imagine how many memories the famous
Grizzly recurve bow will conjure up of days spent afield.
The Grizzly is one legendary bow that has been proving
itself since 1950 and is still to this day an important offering
in our traditional line up. Mr. Bear made the last design
