Comfort by design
The Ideal Heat Curve is a representation of the ideal temperature of a room.
For maximum comfort, the warmest temperatures should be at floor level
while cooler temperatures should remain at head and ceiling levels.
Compared to conventional forced-air heating, radiant heating practically

duplicates the Ideal Heat Curve. Radiant heating systems warm people
and objects rather than just the air. With a forced-air heating system, the air
increases in temperature and rises to the ceiling, the opposite of the Ideal

A radiant floor heating system provides consistent temperatures, specifically

Viega’s insulated panel system is a versatile radiant option that incorporates
insulation, vapor barrier and a grid system to secure tubing all in one
convenient product that is easy to install. Viega’s insulated panel is
compatible with three sizes of ViegaPEX Barrier tubing, ⅜", ½" and ⅝",
and ½" Viega FostaPEX, and provides easy lay down/interlock system with
no taping required.

Versatile panel reduces labor
Viega’s uninsulated panel is a high-density polystyrene grid fastener
system that can turn cold, damp areas into cozy living spaces. The unique
grid pattern allows for tubing to be laid out in both straight and diagonal
directions. Each package of 18 covers 240 square feet and can be
installed with ½" ViegaPEX Barrier tubing for slab and lightweight concrete
applications. Viega’s uninsulated panel is well suited for new or remodel

roll, complete with temporary supply-and-return headers and tubing. To
install, the Viega mat is simply unrolled and secured. Pre-pressurized and
numbered for accurate placement, this remarkably designed system allows
20,000 square feet of tubing for radiant heating and cooling to be installed in
an average workday. Installers can get to work immediately when the Viega
mat arrives without worrying about measuring, spacing or guessing.
The Viega mat is ideal for large rectangular or square slabs such as
warehouses, car garages, museums, schools or airport terminals but
because the system is customized by Viega, it can be designed to fit any
floor plan. Not only does the Viega mat reduce installation time for the

Remodeling existing homes is becoming the new standard in the industry
and Viega offers track and plate systems ideal for retrofitting projects.
Lightweight and designed for easy installation, Viega track can be screwed
directly to the underside of the subflooring and then ViegaPEX Barrier tubing
is snapped into the channel, providing an economical and efficient radiant
floor heating system. With pre-drilled holes, optimized dimensions for
installation and durable construction, Viega track is the fast and easy way to
install radiant heating.
You can also choose heat transfer plates, which allows easy installation
of ViegaPEX Barrier tubing with Viega’s adhesive. The heat transfer
plates can be stapled to the underside of the subflooring of a house. This
provides a fast, simple radiant heating solution that offers consistent
floor heating.

ViegaPEX Barrier tubing
provides superior protection
ViegaPEX Barrier tubing offers the highest UV protection and chlorine
resistance rating in the industry. This tubing can be used with water or a
water/glycol mix in hydronic heating, cooling or snow melting systems.
Available in sizes 5⁄16" to 1½", ViegaPEX Barrier tubing may be installed in
concrete, gypsum-based lightweight concrete, sand, on top of or under
wood flooring or behind wallboard or plaster. ViegaPEX Barrier tubing may
also be used as distribution lines for baseboard heating systems with a
maximum operating temperature of 200˚F @ 80 psi.
