The work-out with a fitness bike is
very effective, varied, and easy on your
joints. You can increase your overall endurance as well as specifically
strengthen your cardiovascular system
and your leg muscles.
Watt
Indicates the actual performed work,

optimal watt output can be precisely
measured with an initial performance
check.
Ergometer Bikes
Computer resistance adjustment. Can
be used for rehailitative purposes.
By using the output in watt you can
regulate the intensity of your work out
very precisely.
Seat
Can be adjusted verticaly and (depending on the product) horizontaly. As a
general rule you should be able to reach
the pedal with your heel when straightening your leg and aligning it with the
seat post.

Heart Rate
Next to Watt, it is best to control the
individual intensity of the work out with
your heart rate. The optimal training

The work-out on the treadmill is very
effective. You can increase your overall
endurance as well as strengthen your
cardiovascular system, your leg muscles,
and your buttocks. Running on your treadmill is, compared to running outside,
very safe and can be controlled well.
Always run in the middle of the
treadmill. Adjust, if needed the speed,
so that you never reach the end of the
treadmill.
Treadmills with manual incline
adjustment
The incline can be set manually by
changing the gradient of the running
deck. Make sure to set the correct
incline at the beginning of each training
session, the incline cannot be re- adjusted while running.
Depending on the model, treadmills are
offering computer functions where different training modes can be adjusted
before the run:
Manual mode
Incline and speed are changed through
the adjustment buttons by the runner.
Incline mode
The incline is automatically changed
during the training by the computer.
Different training and gradient profiles
can be selected.
Speed mode
The speed is automatically changed
during the training by the computer.
Different speed profiles can be selected.
User mode
An own program profile can be created.
Heart Rate mode
The computer will automatically change
the speed and incline to reach your
target heart rate.

Heart Rate

Speed/Incline
To increase or decrease the intensity of
your work out, either the speed or the
incline can be adjusted. It is best to run
at a minimum incline of 3 to 5 %.

Heart Rate
It is best to control the individual

transmit your heart beat it is best to use
a chest belt. Important: Rowing is a far
more intensive exercise then training
on bikes or cross trainers. Common
training heart rate recommendations
will need to be modified based on
your personal performance and rowing
experience. It is best to consult your
physician or a sport scientist to make
an initial performance check and define
your target intensity.

Resistance adjustment with a tension
knob. Different resistance levels can be
adjusted manually.
Air break Rowers
Resistance adjustment through an air
break control system. A change of work
out intensity is achieved by increasing
or decreasing the air resistance on the
ventilator.
Adjustments: Unlike bikes or ellipticals, rowing machines usually do not
require special product adjustments to
your individual body height. Still, it is
important to adjust the foot rests to
your shoe size and to tighten the fixation straps in order to prevent slippage
during exercise.
Training Technique
Technique is the most important factor
when using the rowing machine. If
you get your technique right you‘ll be
efficient, produce better scores / results
and avoid potential injuries. In principal
the different phases of rowing are:
The Finish: Lean back slightly, legs flat,
handle drawn to the body. Forearms
horizontal.
Arms extend, body rocks forward:
The arms are relaxed and extended fully.
The body rocks forward from the hips.
The Slide: After the arms have fully
extended and the body rocked forward,
slide forward maintaining arm and
body position.
The Drive – Full Slide – The Beginning: Shins vertical with body pressed
up to the legs. The arms are stright and
relaxed. The position should not feel
uncomfortable.
The start of The Drive: The legs push
down and the body begins to lever
back.
The Drive continued: The legs continue to push as the body levers back.
The arms remain straight.
The body stops levering back: The
arms draw the handle past the knees
and then strongly to the body, returning to the Finish position. Legs flat.
Forearms horizontal.
It is best to consult an expert or a trainer to get a complete understanding of
the rowing technique.
