ITINERARY
Day 1: Florida to Tallahassee
Today you enjoy travel to the state
capital. Upon arrival in Tallahassee
you check into your first class (3 star)
hotel. Tonight a welcome dinner is
included with all your fellow Mardi Gras
participants.
Day 2: Tallahassee to Alabama,
Mississippi & Lafayette, Louisiana
Breakfast is included this morning.
Today we head west across the
Alabama and Mississippi Gulfcoast.
Enjoy lunch at the famous Beau Rivage
Casino resort in Biloxi. Next continue
into Louisiana. You will arrive in the
heart of the state and the famous Cajun
Country of Lafayette. Check into your
first class (3 star) hotel for a leisurely 5
night stay. Your hub & spoke tour for
Mardi Gras will take you to all the best
Mardi Gras events in the state. This will
be unlike any experience you have ever
witnessed.
Day 3: Lafayette to Mississippi River
Road Plantations & Baton Rouge
Mardi Gras
Breakfast is included this morning.
Today we head to the Mississippi River.
The largest collection of plantation
homes in America are on a 90 mile
stretch of road on both the east and
west banks between New Orleans and
Baton Rouge. Your local guide will show
you some of the most famous including
Oak Alley Plantation and America’s
largest Nottoway Plantation. Continue
to the state capital of Baton Rouge.
Here you enjoy the festive Spanish
Town Mardi Gras Parade, the cities
largest. You enjoy seat for the parade
where you learn to catch attention from
float riders for beads, cups, shirts, and
other Mardi Gras memorabilia. Late this
afternoon return to your hotel.
Day 4 / Lafayette to New Orleans &
world famous Bacchus Parade
Breakfast at the hotel. Today will be a
very special treat as you travel to New
Orleans. You enjoy a tour of the French
Quarter with a local guide. Learn about what
makes this city so special… especially during
Mardi Gras. You enjoy time this afternoon to
shop, dine and explore the French Quarter.
Late this afternoon you have reserved seats
for the grandest Mardi Gras Parade in the
entire world… BACCHUS. This is consider a
‘Super Krewe’ with more than 3000 riders
on floats that are world record sizes of more
than 100 feet long. You will enjoy marching
bands, celebrities and so much more. It is
a perfect way to experience the essence of
Mardi Gras. Later this evening you return to
your hotel.
Day 5: Lundi Gras, Lafayette to Lake Charles
& Royal Gala Ball
(Lundi Gras means BEFORE Fat Tuesday).
Breakfast at the hotel. The morning is at
your leisure because of your late night at
Bacchus. This afternoon we travel a short
distance to Lake Charles. First you visit the
state museum of Mardi Gras. Here you
learn about the history, culture and customs
of what makes Mardi Gras so unique. In
Louisiana, Mardi Gras is a way of life. Next
you have admission tickets for the famous
ROYAL GALA. This is completely different
from a parade. This is a BALL at the Lake
Charles Civic Center, located right on scenic
Lake Charles. The CINDERELLA MOMENT
of the evening is to present the seasons,
ROYAL GALA featuring the current year
courts of more than 50 Krewes parading in
their full regala, with kings, queens, royal
dukes and duchesses, captains, courtesans
and jesters, all to lively music. The elaborate
costumes are not to be believed and with
so many Krewes Royal Courts in procession,
it makes it one of the worlds great Mardi
Gras moments. Later this evening you
return to your hotel.
Day 6 / Mardi Gras & FAT TUESDAY /
Lafayette King Gabrielle Parade
& Mardi Gras Festival
Breakfast at the hotel. The Mardi
Gras season all comes down to FAT
TUESDAY. Enjoy seats for the famous
King Gabrielle Parade in Lafayette.
The major parade of Mardi Gras has
the wonderful Mardi Gras Festival
that follows. You have some time this
afternoon for your own pursuits before
you attend the ROYAL BALL of Lafayette.
This ball features the Royal Courts
of the Krewes of Central Louisiana in
all their finest regalia. It is a perfect
way to close our Louisian Mardi Gras
experience.
Day 7: Lafayette to Tallahassee
& Farewell dinner
Breakfast at the hotel. Today we
leave Cajun Country as we head east
returning to Florida. Upon arrival in
the states capital of Tallahassee you will
check into your first class (3 star) hotel.
Farewell dinner is included tonight to
celebrate our Mardi Gras experience.
Day 8 / Tallahassee to Florida cities
Breakfast at the hotel. Today we travel
