THE MOORINGS
THE MOORINGS
The Moorings offers one of the youngest and most innovative fleets in
the charter industry, with new yachts continually being added to the fleet.
This year over £50 million has been invested in new yachts, including new
models with amenities to make your sailing holiday the best ever.
Our on-going partnership with Bénéteau and Robertson & Caine allows
us to stay at the forefront of charter industry developments. We’re proud
to offer the world’s largest catamaran fleet with models ranging from our
newest catamarans, the Moorings 5800 and 4800, to the award-winning
Moorings 4600.
NEW YACHTS FOR 2013
The new Moorings 5800 flagship catamaran is the most revolutionary yacht
ever offered by The Moorings and is available for bareboat charter, or allinclusive cruising with Captain and Chef. Customdesigned by Robertson
& Caine to our specifications, the spacious Moorings 5800 offers a forward
cockpit lounge area, and six airconditioned guest cabins—all with en-suite
bathrooms! An elevated flybridge with lounge seating, teak decking and
state-of-the-art equipment make this cat perfect for groups of up to 12.
The new Moorings 4800 catamaran is built on the success of the popular
Moorings 4600 and is also available for both bareboat and crewed charters.
Offering excellent performance under sail, she’s the perfect holiday
platform—ideal for a crew of eight, but spacious enough for up to 10. Enjoy
luxury features including a covered forward cockpit, electric winches,
inverter, generator and air-conditioning.
ENVIRONMENTAL INITIATIVES
Sailing is an inherently green activity, and the places we sail are
some of the world’s most beautiful and fragile. The Moorings is
dedicated to preserving these delicate ecosystems by spearheading
environmentally conscious tourism and sustainable development.
Across our fleet and bases worldwide, we utilise green technologies,
as well as support local educational and marine research initiatives.
Our environmentally friendly flagship base in the BVI, The
Moorings Village, features a desalination plant, water treatment
and recycling facility, and marina with pumpassisted flow to
improve the harbour’s water quality. Our global headquarters in
Clearwater, Florida is Leadership in Energy and Environmental
Design (LEED) certified by the US Green Building Council.
See page 68 for more information and details on The Moorings fleet.
NEW DESTINATIONS FOR 2013
The Moorings is pleased to announce exciting new destinations in the
Mediterranean and North America. Embark on an adventure exploring
the Ionian from the lively island of Corfu in Greece. With a long tradition
of welcoming the international jetset, Corfu offers beautiful beaches, crystal
clear waters and plenty of family-friendly activities.
Explore the United States’ East Coast from our new locations in Annapolis,
Maryland and Miami, Florida. Annapolis is situated at the heart of the
Chesapeake Bay, where charming waterfront villages are accessible from
calm waters and sheltered tributaries, ideal for boating. Miami boasts
pristine sandy beaches, year round sunshine and a great starting point from
which to visit the spectacular Florida Keys.
If you prefer a power yacht, enjoy the new Moorings 393 Powercat now
available from Anacortes, in the Pacific Northwest, where orca sightings
and quaint fishing towns abound, against a backdrop of snow-capped
peaks!

PLACES TO GO, THINGS TO DO
Begin your voyage at Road Town where you will
depart for The Bight at Norman Island. Here you
can snorkel the caves of Treasure Point, believed
to be the inspiration for Robert Louis Stevenson’s
Treasure Island. As you head toward Salt Island,
stop over to explore the famed Wreck of the Rhone,
which sank during a hurricane in 1867. Then sail
northeastward to The Baths at Virgin Gorda, nature’s version of Stonehenge by the sea, and hike through the stunning
granite boulders that line the pristine beach. Spend the evening under the stars of Marina Cay and relax with a nightcap
from the hilltop bar.
As you start your next day, plan to leave it to The Dogs - literally - and snorkel on your way to Gorda Sound. You can
stop in at our Support Facility at Saba Rock on Virgin Gorda and get advice on a fun trip to Anegada, a coral island
and fishing mecca lying only 28 feet or 8.5 metres above sea level. Get your fill of famous fare the following day when
you stop at Foxy’s and Soggy Dollar Bar on Jost Van Dyke. Sail to Cane Garden Bay for an exquisite change of scenery,
and a chance to bask in the sun on the crescent shaped beach.

SAILING FROM KOS
MEDITERRANEAN
MOORINGS
The Dodecanese Islands lie off the eastern edge
of the Aegean Sea adjacent to the coast of Turkey.
A major yachting centre, the isle of Kos is one of
the largest in the group. Sailing in Kos waters is
absolutely splendid, entailing open-water passages
between the 14 large islands and more than 40
islets, or longer forays into Turkey or west to the
Cyclades Islands. This fascinating cruising ground
is known for its superlative beaches, excellent
snorkelling and scuba diving.
KOS
In these lands, you’ll also discover ancient castles,
fortresses, monasteries, and churches perched atop
hills; while in the narrow cobblestone streets, openair markets, tavernas, restaurants, and bars hum
with activity. A perfect complement to fantastic
sailing, each anchorage offers its own unique blend
of quiet villages, bustling towns, secluded harbours and scenic coves.
Be sure to visit the volcanic island of Santorini, with famous red and black rock beaches, endless shopping and lively
nightlife. It has been said that the sunsets here are the best in the world.

With a sunny Mediterranean climate, Croatia
is a spectacular cruising ground with abundant

the largest tourist region and has three UNESCO
World Heritage cities: medieval Zadar dating back
3,000 years; the cosmopolitan town of Split with
a 1,700 year old Diocletian palace; and historic
Dubrovnik to the far south. At the centre of this
cruising ground is Agana, served by the nearby
Split Airport. Whether you choose to sail from Agana or Dubrovnik, this sailing area offers graceful villages that still
retain their Roman and Renaissance ambiance.
ROMAN RUINS, ANCIENT VILLAGES
Take a short sail south of Agana to Sesula Bay on Solta, a well sheltered natural anchorage, perfect for swimming and
an overnight stop. The next morning, sail southwest to the untouched island of Vis, where you can visit the ruins of a
Roman theatre, as well as the breathtaking Modra Spilja (Blue Cave). Komiza and Stonica Bay offer good anchorages.
Enjoy a couple of hours sailing to Proidz islet, in the rich fishing grounds off the northwest tip of Korcula island, then
have dinner at the lively port of Vela Luka.
Set sail early to explore Kneza to the north of the Peljeski Channel. Arrive early at Palkeni’s Palmizana Marina
and take a water taxi to Hvar, home to the oldest theatre in Europe. Cross the Hvar Channel to Blaca Bay or sail
east and spend the night in the well equipped Milna marina. See the submerged ruins of a former Roman fish

picturesque northern coast of Solta, before
returning to Agana.

THE FRENCH RIVIERA – NICE
Arguably the jewel of the northern Mediterranean
Sea, the Riviera is blessed with one of the most
pleasant climates on Earth. From the luxurious
comfort of your Moorings Crewed Yacht, watch
as the tall peaks of the Alps rise skyward not far
from the coast.
Nice is a modern town that still embraces its longstanding traditions. You will see them alive and well
at the colourful Cours Saleya market — with flowers,
fruits and vegetables — and at the lively fish market
of Saint-Francois Square. Be sure to stop at the
Iles d’Or, the Golden Isles, home to the unspoilt nature preserves of the Ile de Porquerolles and Ile de Port-Cros.
A typical Nice Crewed Yacht charter covers the waters from Monaco to just southwest of Cannes, embracing some of
the most exclusive harbours and beautiful bays on the coast. One thing is for certain: Sailing the Côte d’Azur will leave
you with a lifetime of memories.
ANCHORAGES OF INSPIRATION
They have moved such masters as Renoir and Matisse and they are sure to do the same to you. Nice wraps its colourful
embrace around the Baie des Anges, The Angels’ Bay. Just to the east, Monaco’s Monte Carlo gleams with its stunning
architecture and chic ambiance. Southwest of Nice lie the golden beaches of Antibes and the twin islands, Iles de Lérins.
St. Marguerite, the largest, offers coves cut into vibrant greens of pine and eucalyptus. On sheltered St. Honorat you
can visit a 4th-century monastery, where
a small group of monks still keep their

A PRISTINE MARITIME PARK
MOORINGS
SOUTH PACIFIC
Rich in unparalleled beauty, New Zealand is a
unique destination of sparkling bays and cobalt
blue seas, edged with long silvery beaches, and
pockets of sub-tropical forest. The vast mountain
chains, rolling green pastures dotted with sheep,
rugged shores, bustling cities, and small rural
towns further sets it apart.
BAY OF ISLANDS
The Bay of Islands is a sailing paradise for the
entire family with 80 kilometers of coastline
sheltered by over 86 islands. Dolphins, blue
penguins, North Island robins, snapper,
kingfisher, and other marine and land animals
abound. Some locations are premier sites for
swimming, snorkelling and scuba diving. White
sandy beaches and walking trails are just a few
of the pleasures that await. Key locales include
historical Russell, New Zealand’s first capital; Whangaroa Harbour and its swanky Kingfish Lodge; the thriving city
of Auckland; and the wildlife haven of Cavalli Islands. For an extended holiday, visit The Hauraki Gulf — one of the
world’s largest cruising areas, covering over 3800 sq. kilometers, with 76 islands, over 200 sheltered anchorages and
