It is my great pleasure to invite you and your athletes to attend our 2nd International
Taekwondo Tournament - Šabac Open 2014.
The tournament will be held on Saturday, the 12th of April 2014. It will take place in our
historical city of Šabac, in Serbia, and it is open to all clubs and national teams.
The year 2014 is a very special year for Taekwondo Club Šabac, as the organizer of the
tournament, as it marks the 30th Anniversary of work since the founding of the club in
1984.
Your presence will to a great extent contribute to the celebration of our jubilee and will be
remembered and recorded in our club history.
In the spirit of sportsmanship, we are dedicated to providing a high standard of
organization in order to ensure a smooth operation of the event and a pleasant atmosphere.
We hope that our years of experience will contribute towards making your experience at

No changes will be made to catagories or adding of competitiors after the applications deadline has expired.
ENTRY FEE:
• Sparring: € 20 per competitor.
• Poomse: € 15 for one discipline, € 20 for two or more disciplines.
The entry fee is payable in cash during registration. There will be a € 10 fee for competitors who do not show up.
WEIGH-IN: There will be no tolerance at weigh-in. If a competitor doesn’t fit the registered category, her/his name will be
deleted from the draw.
REGISTRATION CONDITIONS: National membership identification card or a passport is a compulsory document for
registration. Competitors must present evidence of a medical check-up no older than six months.
AWARDS:
• DIPLOMAS - Diplomas will be awarded to the first 4 competitors in every category.
• MEDALS One gold, one silver and two bronze medals per category.
Ranking for medals: gold– 7 points; silver– 3 points; bronze – 1 point
Points are not awarded to categories with only one competitor.
TROPHIES - Trophies are awarded to teams for the overall first, second and third place.
LIABILITY:
All competitors take part at their own risk.
The organizer and the TAS assume no responsibility for any damages, injuries or losses
With sending their application the clubs confirm that they have a parent’s written consent for their players. On request they
have to be able to show this.
PROTEST: Coaches have to file a protest no later than 5 minutes upon the end of the fight in question, together with a
written request and a deposit of € 50. All violations of rules and sport ethics will be penalized in accordance with the TAS
Disciplinary Rulebook.
COACHES:
One (1) coach per every five (5) competitors will be allowed entry to the competition area.
Coaches must wear tracksuits and appropriate shoes.

COMPETITION RULES: TAS, ETU, WTF rules.
Dae Do electronic body protector for Class A Cadets, Juniors and Seniors provided by
the organizer. Competitors must bring sensor socks.
Ordinary body protectors for all B class competitors and A class children which must be
brought by the competitor. These competitors must wear foot protectors.
All competitors must provide all other WTF-approved protective equipment: helmet,
forearm guards, shin guards, gloves, groin guard, mouth guard. Please note that mouth
guards are compulsory for ALL participating athletes, including those competing in “B”
class. Head kicks are not allowed in the B class categories.
B class: competitors with a rank from 8th to 5th gup.
A class: competitors with a minimum rank of 4th gup.

Pair competition: 2 athletes (m + f)
Team competition: 3 athletes (m + m + m / f + f + f )
All Poomsae will be drawn by lot for each category out of the corresponding pool of compulsory
poomsae. The drawing of the Poomsae will be performed by the competition board on Wednesday, 9th
April 2014 and will be announced immediately thereafter on www.tas.org.rs and www.tkd-reg.com
On principle all members of a pair/team must be of the appropriate age.
Exception: In the Junior category a pair/team can consist of juniors and cadets, but in any case they
will have to compete in the Junior class!
SYSTEM OF COMPETITION A - CLASS: Cut off system
1st round preliminary: When 20 or more contestants are participating;
Contestants shall perform the two assigned compulsory Poomsae, and, half of them from each group
shall advance to semi-final based on their points. In preliminary round, each group might be judged by
different group of judges. If the number of contestants is odd, then round the number of contestants to
make even, e.g. If there are 13 contestants in group, then 13 contestants as considered as 14
contestants, and 7 contestants shall advance to semi-final.
2nd round semi-final: When 9 to 19 contestants are participating;
Competition shall start from semi-final round, Contestants shall perform the two assigned compulsory
Poomsae, and, 8 of them shall be advanced to final based on their points.
3rd round final: When 8 or fewer contestants are participating;
Competition shall start from final round. Two Poomsae in accordance with drawing.
NOTE : The organiser reserves the right to reduce the number of Poomsae to be performed in the
preliminary and the semi-final round to one (1) form.
Procedure in case of equal score:
a) In case there is a tied score after the completion of the preliminary round at the last place of the
best 50%, respectively on the 8th rank of the semi-final round, the higher points in presentation
will be the determining factor for advancement to the next round. If this score is equal as well,
all athletes in question will proceed.
In case there is a tied score after the completion of the final round on the rank 1, 2, or 3, the contestant
who is awarded more points in presentation shall be declared the winner. In case the score is still tied,
then the one who has higher total points (including highest and lowest points) shall be the winner. If it’s
still tied then a rematch between the contestants in question shall be conducted. The referee will decide
on the Poomsae to be performed (in any case one of the compulsory Poomsae).

1. have a valid insurance, which is in effect on the competition day when each athlete participates;
2. have successfully passed a pre-competition medical examination; and
3. have a valid legal permission by their parents (guardians) to participate in the tournament.
I hereby release the “Šabac” Taekwondo club (as the Organizer) and the Serbia Taekwondo
Association from any and all liability related to any damage, injury or loss sustained or incurred
during the participation of the athletes from the team that I represent in the competition above.
The present Liability Declaration is issued in order to serve before the “Šabac” Taekwondo club and
the Serbian Taekwondo Association.
