The Aberdeen Area Arts Council (AAAC) serves as an advocate for the arts by promoting arts events in the community, public awareness of the value of the arts to be a healthy community, and the importance of arts education in the schools. The Aberdeen Area Arts Council is a co-sponsor of the ARCC Dance Program and sells flowers for the recitals as a fundraiser to help us continue our arts programming. The AAAC believes educational outreach in the local and area schools is integral to its mission. In the last five years, the Arts Council has provided over 20,000 students an opportunity to experience the arts through all-school assemblies at their school or a local theatre – at no cost to the student or school. Created in 1969, the AAAC is funded through membership support and grants from the SD Arts Council, the City of Aberdeen and others. Programming includes unique yearly opportunities such as the Golden Dragon Acrobats, River North Dance Chicago, Jim Witter, Rhythmic Circus, TAP Kids, Spencer’s Theatre of Illusion; and annual events such as Arts in the Park, Winterfest and Storybook Land Festival. www.AberdeenAreaArtsCouncil.com Like us on Facebook - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - 225 3rd Ave. SE, Aberdeen, SD, 57401
