STUDENT MOTORCOACH SAFETY GUIDE
Taking the time to choose a safe motorcoach company will
result in transportation for your students that is statistically
proven to be America’s safest means of travel.
The United Motorcoach Association has created a guide on
the basics for choosing a safe transportation company.
1. Price must not be the only reason for selecting
a company. While the price of a trip is important, good safety
practices are more important. Log on to www. Safersys.org
where you can check with the US Dept of Transportation for a
carrier’s safety record. Please feel free to call Klein’s for
assistance in interpreting the statistics.
2. Not all transportation companies are equally safe. The
complete set of regulations for commercial motorcoach
carriers can be found at www.fmcsa.dot.gov. Please make sure
the company you select is operating by these rules.
3. If you select a travel agent for your tour planning –
Ask what transportation company is provided so you can
determine if the company is safe by using steps 1 and 2.
SAFETY SHOULD ALWAYS COME FIRST !
Be a careful shopper when you are selecting transportation for
the most precious cargo in the world. Klein Transportation is
an approved carrier by the Pennsylvania Public Utilities Commission and the Federal Department of Transportation.
Klein’s also received the top rating from Consolidated Safety
Services, an independent auditing firm used by the Department
of Defense. Please refer to the safety guidelines on the last page
of this booklet.
The experienced professional travel planners at Klein’s will
save you time and money. We will help you select a date that
will save you money. Please enjoy selecting the trip that best fits
the interest of your class! If you prefer to customize your itinerary our salespeople will help you create a trip pecifically for
your class.
