A hospital bed is probably about $2,000 a day, depending on the hospital. For that amount of money, you can have your patient stay home and have long-term follow up performed by a homecare company. This will lead to an improved quality of life and better care for the patient while dramatically reducing readmission rates. But the healthcare system has to support this change through more coherent regulations across the country. As a society, we need to look at the global care we give to patients.” STATISTICS Name: VitalAire Canada Country: Canada Employees: 800+ Est: 1986 LOOKING FORWARD Within the next five years, the Air Liquide group hopes to grow to serving at least one million patients worldwide, and VitalAire Canada will participate in this growth. “We want to be a market leader through constant innovation and clinical expertise,” Giard says. “We aim to make a positive impact on the economic and social landscape of Canada.” Industry: Healthcare Premiere service: Home healthcare solutions and medical gases CEO: Matthieu Giard Website: www.vitalaire.com
