Academy Audio was established in 2012 to provide
high quality sound, lighting and PA equipment
hire in Buckinghamshire, Berkshire and the South
East and brings together an accumulation of over
20 years’ experience working in audio prodution, live sound/recording industries and providing audio and lighting services for a wide range of
events and functions as well as for fixed installations.
Our commitment is to provide you with the best possible service for your event and for your peace of mind.

Located on the outskirts of High Wycombe between
the M40 and M4 motorways Academy Audio are ideally
situated to service events in the High Wycombe, Chilterns and Thames Valley areas of Buckinghamshire,
Berkshire, Oxfordshire and the South East of England.
We have a large range of PA and lighting equipment
so whether you need a PA system for a function or
corporate event, a sound and lighting system for a DJ,
band or private party, or ambient lighting for a venue,
we have equipment to cater for all your event’s needs.
We can provide trained sound and lighting engineers to operate the equipment during the
event, or we will show you how to operate the
equipment if you plan on operating it yourself.
We ensure that we fully understand your needs and
work with you at the event planning stage so that you
can be assured that what you require for and from your
event is delivered, every time.

Academy Audio has PA equipment available for a wide
range of applications; from speech PA systems for corporate events, functions and Weddings to Front of House
PA and monitoring systems for bands, live acts and DJs,
we can cater for practically any type of event. We have
a range of wired and wireless microphones for vocals,
instrumentation and speech, including lapel/lavaliere
and headset microphone systems as well as onboard
mixer based and outboard dynamics and FX processing
from leading manufacturers such as Drawmer and DBX
We can provide a range of DJ equipment for the mobile
or professional Club DJ, or simply equipment for DJing
at a private party or at at home. With industry standard DJ equipment from Pioneer, Technics as well as
Numark we can cater for practially any DJ requirement
and budget, from top of the range Pioneer CDJ CD
Decks and mixers, to Technics 1210 turntables and
Pioneer DJ controllers for use with laptops.
With a wide range of lighting options available we can
cater for practically anything from venue uplighting
and venue lighting effects through to disco/club lighting, laser systems, special lighting effects and theatre
lighting.
Even if the equipment you need isn’t readily available
from our own hire stock we can usually source this from
our network of partners and suppliers, providing you
with a one stop solution for all of your PA requirements.
We cater for the novice DJ all the way through to the
most experienced Club DJs. Our DJ equipment is available for dry hire or can be set up alongside one of our
PA systems, or your own PA system if you already have
one you plan to use for your event.
When it comes to lighting practically anything is possible. We can provide subtle ambient venue uplighting
or back lighting throught to a full venue or ceiling wash
or even custom projection effects. Our range of disco/
club includes lighting effects from leading manufacturers including Martin, iSolution, Equinox, Chauvet, ADJ
and Lanta. A range of outdoor lighting and performance/
theatre lighting is also available.

The quality and clarity of the sound that a loudspeaker
produces is everything, why compromise? We supply
Turbosound and Volt loudspeaker systems which
are highly regarded within the pro audio industry.
Turbosound speakers are recognised throughout the
world for the quailty of their sound. Volt Loudspeakers
can be heard in some of the world’s most prestigious
recording studios and venues. Abbey Road, BBC Maida
Vale and The Royal Opera House to name just a few.
The quality of the sound that a loudspeaker produces
requires amplification that is equally as good as the
speaker drivers and other speaker components, to drive
a clean and distrotion free signal to the loudspeaker.
High quality, high powered QSC and Crown amplifiers
are supplied for use with our passive speaker systems,
providing a clean signal to the loudspeakers with almost
unmeasurable harmonic distortion.
Our Yamaha and Mackie small format analogue mixing
desks all have built in FX processing, the Yamaha consoles also have built in one knob compression. Our
large format Mackie analogue consoles with 24 mic
channels and 6 aux sends/returns give flexibility and
ample routing options for even the most demanding
front of house and monitoring requirements. Soundcraft

We supply a range of microphones for live music, band
and speech use, including Industry Standard Shure
SM58 Vocal and Shure SM57 Instrument microphones
A range of Sennheiser, Shure and Trantec wireless
handheld, lapel/lavaliere and headset microphone
systems are also available. For bands we also supply
high quality Shure 6-piece drum microphone sets.
With a range of outboard dynamics, equalisation and
effects processing aavailable from DBX, Drawmer and
other well known maufacturers we have options available for for practically any application. Our outboard
sound processing equipment can be hired as individual
units or in flightcases/racks configured to your individual
requirements.
We have put together a number of PA packages
featuring some of our most popular PA systems which
cove a wide range of different aplications, from speech
PA systems to Disco and band PA systems. As each
individual requirement is typically different in one way
or another we regularly tailor equipment packages to
meet with with specific client needs.

From top of the range Pioneer CDJ2000s to a range of
CD mixing decks from Numark, including the CDMix3
and iCDMix3 dual CD decks we have a range of CD
decks to meet the most demanding DJ requirements,
as well as for those more on a budget. Pioneer DDJ
DJ Controllers for use for mixing MP3s on laptops are
also available (note: laptops are customer supplied).
For the Vinyl DJ we supply the industry standard turntable, Technics 1210s. Technics 1210s have been
used by the world’s best DJs and have graced more
clubs and venues than any other turntable and are the
defacto club turnatble of choice. These can be hired
in pairs or individually for mixing vinyl alongside CDs
and are supplied either with Ortofon Concorde DJ head
cartridges and stylus or Stanton 500MkII Stylus with
original Technics heads.
With DJ mixers from Pioneer (DJM Series), Numark
and budget mixers from other manufacturers we have
a range of DJ mixers to suit the professional DJ, which
include built in FX processing, as well as those needing
a basic mixer on a budget. 2, 3 and 5 channel mixers
are available for hire.

Transform your venue with our LED uplighters. LED
uplighting is great and allows you to completely change
the ambient mood and feel of a room or venue by adding
colour and warmth to the room and being LED these can
be set to almost any colour of your choosing. Uplighting
can be used to highlight architectural features or create
a full wash within the room or on a ceiling. What’s more
being LED these generate practically no heat and can
be used next to drapes, curtains and soft furnishings.
We have a range of Club and Disco lighting available
from leading manufacturers including Martin, iSolution,
Chauvet, Equinox, Lanta, ADJ and ACME. Our large
Martin EFX scanner lighting effects units will fill practically any dance floor with fantastic lighting effects. We
also have a range of club / disco lighting packages and
packages can be tailored to suit cutomer requirements.
Moving Heads and a range of multi-coloured lasers
and LED disco lighting are also available.
With a range of lighting effects from Martin and other
manufacturers, including the Martin DC range of lighting
effects, we can provide a wide range of lighting not just
for the dance floor, but practically anywhere within a
venue. From liquid and water effects to wild flame and
fire effects as well as gobo effects and wheel changers,
practically anything can be achieved. Strobes, High
powered 400W Ultra Violet (UV) cannons and UV LED
bars are also available.

With a range of atmospheric effects machines available you can immediately enhance the impact of lighting effects, or use them to create statements on their
own. Whether you need an almost invisible haze to
make lasers dazzle, dramatic bursts of smoke to liven
a production, or low lying fog to create spooky atmospheres we have a range of smoke, haze and low lying
fog machines to suit small rooms right the way through
to larger vanues.
A range of outdoor lighting is available, from high
powered flood/wash lights to highlight architectural
features and uplight buildings and tress, through to
our range of festoon and LED fairy lighting for use outdoors or within marquees. We can transform practicaly
any space with lighting, simply and effectively. Battery
operated outdoor LED fairly lights are also available
for those hard to reach places where there simply isn’t
any power available.
We have a range of heavy duty Powerdrive lighting
stands available including single fixture floor stands,
short and high level lighting stands as well as heavy
duty winch operated stands. T-bars, Spigots, half
spigots, G clamps, truss mounts and 50mm tubing
are also available along with a range 50mm trussing,
including truss manufactured by Slick Systems, Trilite
and Gobal Truss. Budget T-Bar and ladder truss lighting stand systems are also available.
