Barbeque Grills and Propane Fryers
Safety Tips
• Propane and charcoal BBQ grills and Fryers should only be used outdoors.
• The grill should be placed well away from the home, deck railings and out from under
eaves and overhanging branches.
• Keep children and pets away from the grill area.
• Keep your grill clean by removing grease or fat buildup from the grills and in trays
below the grill.
• Never leave your grill or Fryer unattended.
• Never use a fryer on a wooden deck or under a patio cover.
• Do not overfill the fryer.
• Never let children or pets near the fryer when in use or after use as the oil can remain
hot for hours.
• Use well-insulated potholders or oven mitts and wear long sleeves and safety goggles
to protect from splatter.
Burn Pits are Prohibited
The Joint Base Langley Eustis Supplement states. “Open Fire and Outdoor
Cooking. Open fires, camping fires, bonfires, burning of leaves, etc., are
prohibited on JBLE and all property under its jurisdiction without the
written approval of the Installation Fire Chief.
This is not open to interpretation. The Fire Chief will be the approving
official for all open burning on this installation (Fort Eustis). Additionally,
if someone is burning something, they should have a permit signed by the
Fire Chief on them at all times.
