Iconostas at the Ukrainian Catholic Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception St. Peter St. Bartholomew St. Philip St. Paul St. Andrew St. James St. Simon St. Thomas The Iconostas is one of the prominent features of the interior of the Cathedral. The iconostas is a wall of icons that separates the nave of the church from the sanctuary. This iconostas was designed by Chrystyna Dochwat. The Holy Apostles of the New Testament are depicted as larger icons, spanning the middle of the iconostas. At the bottom of the iconostas are four icons representing the sacrifices from the Old Testament, foreshadowing the sacrifice of Jesus in the New Testament. St. Mark St. Matthew St. Luke St. John The iconostas also serves a catechetical function by connecting the Old Testament to the New Testament through the Prophets, Apostles, and Great Feasts of the Church year.
