Follow the Leader: Josh Johnson led PC in scoring for the

five three pointers and contributed 14 of his 17 points in the second
half. Al'Lonzo Coleman has led or tied PC in scoring in six of the eight

led with 22 points, while Bo King shared the scoring spotlight with
Coleman at Duke when they each recorded 13 points.
Hitting the Road: The game against Tulsa will be the fifth
straight road game for the Blue Hose. PC will have played in five different states (South Carolina (twice), New York, North Carolina and
Oklahoma) for the five games before they return home on Dec. 17 to
face UC Davis.
PC RADIO COVERAGE: WLBG along with PC College station WPCX-FM 97.1 will bring you all the PC basketball action. In the Clinton
area Blue Hose fans should turn their dials to 97.1 WPCX, the official

GOING BIG: The Blue Hose concluded their first NCAA Division I
season in 1-4 against Big South opposition, falling to Radford, Liberty,
Coastal Carolina and Winthrop and defeating Radford at home. The
win over the Highlanders in the 07-08 season was PC's first win at the
Division I level and the first win over a future Big South Conference
foe.
Going Bigger: PC's victory over Coastal on Dec. 3 was the first
win over a Big South opponent in the 08-09 season. The Blue Hose
followed up the win by defeating High Point on Dec. 6 to stand at 2-0
in conference action.
WHO'S COMING WITH ME: With the win over San Jose State the
Blue Hose have won 13 consecutive regular season home games.
They have not lost at the Templeton Center during the regular season
since Jan.10, 2007 when they fell 74-57 to former South Atlantic Conference foe Lincoln Memorial.

national television against Duke on ESPNU marked the second time
since their move to NCAA Division I that they have appeared on
television. The Blue Hose took on Ohio State in Columbus last year
on the Big Ten Network. The Blue Hose will appear on television
three times in 2008-09 including the Duke contest. PC will take on the
Gamecocks of South Carolina on SportSouth on Dec. 23 in Columbia,
S.C. and fellow conference foe UNC Asheville in Asheville, N.C. on
Jan. 24 on SportSouth.

SEASON OPENER: The Blue Hose dropped their
second consecutive season opener against Duke on
Nov. 10. The Blue Hose also dropped their season
opener last year to Nebraska. The last time PC claimed
a victory in the season opener was in a 69-63 win over
Lander during the 2006-07 season.
STRONG OPENER: Freshman guard Bo King ended
his regular season opener against Duke tied for the
team lead with 13 points. King was a perfect 6-for-6
from the free throw line in the game.
CAREER BESTS: Al'Lonzo Coleman collected his
season-high of 14 rebounds against High Point, while
freshman Chase Holmes grabbed a career-best six
rebounds in the win over Army. Bryan Bostic set a new
career record with 22 points against Georgia and replaced his single-game career high of 21 points, which
came against the Bulldogs last season. Coleman's high
of 22 points came against San Jose State, which was
also his second career double-double. Pierre Miller
ended the Duke game with a career-best six rebounds.
EXHIBIT NO. 1: Three players finished with 10 points
each in Presbyterian College’s 70-60 exhibition loss
to Augusta State on Nov. 6 at the Templeton Center.
Augusta State is the 2007-08 NCAA Division II National
Runner-up. Reigning NCAA Division I Independent
Newcomer of the Year Al’Lonzo Coleman was 4-for-7
from the field on the night en route to his 10 points. He
had a team-high tying four rebounds in the loss. Pierre
Miller and Josh Johnson both hit two three-pointers,
one shot inside the arc and two free throws to acquire
their 10 points. Johnson tied Coleman for team-high
honors with four caroms in the game. Senior guard
Bryan Bostic had nine points for the Blue Hose in the
loss. Freshman Bo King tallied eight points for the Blue
Hose. Coleman and Miller both recorded three steals
each in the contest.
GOOD BERGER: Berger comes to the Blue Hose after
a two-year stint as the head coach at Western Texas
Junior College. After 13 years of being disbanded,
Berger helped to restart the program in the 2006-07
season. In only his second season in 2007-08, Berger
showed the benefits of all his hard work in the major rebuilding process by leading the Westerners to an 18-11
record and a fifth place finish in the tough WJCAC, which is regarded by most as one of the toughest Junior
College conferences in the United States. Berger showed that his coaching prowess did not just translate to
the hardwood during his time at Texas Western as he recruited four top 400 players.
NO PLACE LIKE IT: The Blue Hose with their resounding 111-51 victory over Carver Bible College finished the
year a perfect 5-0 on the 2007-08 season at home. Overall the Blue have gone 44-3 at home during the regular season since the beginning of the 2004-05 basketball season.

SCOUTING TULSA
LAST TIME OUT: Tulsa defeated Missouri State 70-67 on Dec. 10 to advance to a 5-4 record on the year.
Tulsa led 36-31 at the half, but that advantage was only at three after a Golden Hurricane basekt at 1:56 made
the score 66-63. Two free throws by Tulsa with 16.4 seconds left helped give the Golden Hurricane the edge
over Missouri State and the 70-67 win.
Watch For: Tulsa's seven-foot center Jerome Jordan led the Golden Hurricane with 21 points and nine
rebounds in the win over Missouri State. He averages 10.0 points per game and grabs 8.1 rebounds. Teammate Ben Uzoh leads Tulsa with a 15.3 points per game average.
HOME STREAK: Tulsa holds a 26 game home winning streak against non-conference opponents. The
Golden Hurricanes upheld the streak on Dec. 10 by downing Missouri Valley Conference member Missiouri
State at the Reynolds Center.

an honor he reached during the 2005-06 season after becoming the first to accomplish 200 wins at PC in the 2000-01
season.
During his 19-year tenure at Presbyterian College,
Nibert has compiled six 20-win seasons. His Blue Hose
teams finished in the top four in the South Atlantic Conference (SAC) regular season standings 14 times, winning

Basketball Tournament in 1996, 1997, 2003, and 2006.
Nibert is also the only coach in the history of the SAC
to coach a squad to the “Sweet 16” of the Division II
Tournament. Even more impressive, Nibert has seen
51 out of his 51 seniors graduate from Presbyterian
during his tenure.
Last season, Nibert guided the Blue Hose into
their first NCAA Division I season. Nibert led PC to
its first ever win at the NCAA Division I level on Dec.
1, 2007 when the Blue Hose defeated Big South
Conference foe Radford, 62-60, at the Templeton
Center.
Overall, PC finished its first NCAA Division I
season with five victories. The Blue Hose won all
five of their games at home to enter the 2008-09
campaign in the midst of a 12-game home winning
streak, which places them tied for the 14th longest
active home winning streak in all of NCAA Division I
men’s basketball.
One year earlier in their final year in NCAA Division II in the 2006-07 season, the Blue Hose posted
a 20-9 record to finish with two consecutive 20-win
seasons. PC concluded SAC regular season play in
second with a 12-4 mark and advanced to the Food
Lion SAC Men’s Basketball Tournament semifinals
where they fell to tournament champion and NCAA
Division II Elite Eight participant Wingate.
In the 2005-06 campaign, PC compiled a 25-10
overall record including a 10-4 ledger in the South
Atlantic Conference, good for a tie at second place in
the league. The Blue Hose advanced to the finals of
the 2006 Food Lion/SAC Tournament, which earned
them an at-large bid to the NCAA Division II Southeast
Regional Tournament, where they advanced to the
semifinals.
In the 2004-05 season, Nibert led the Blue Hose
to an 18-11 overall record and a tie for third place in
the SAC regular season. In addition, the Blue Hose
advanced to the semifinals of the 2005 Food Lion
SAC Tournament.
Nibert led the Blue Hose to a program recordtying 27 wins against nine losses in the 2002-03
season. The team compiled a 9-5 mark in SAC play,
good for a fourth place finish. In the Food Lion SAC

received a first-round bye in the NCAA Tournament and finished the season ranked No. 15 in the country.
His 1995-96 team won the program’s first-ever SAC Tournament title and received an automatic bid to the
NCAA Tournament.
In 1993, Nibert led the Blue Hose team which captured the SAC regular season championship and won a
school record 27 games to the NAIA National Tournament in Kansas City, Mo. The national tournament appearance was the first-ever for Presbyterian College. For his efforts, Nibert was named the Coach of the Year for the
state of South Carolina, the South Atlantic Conference and NAIA District 26.
He began his coaching career in 1979 at Rice University as an assistant under Mike Schuler, and moved to
PC with Butch Estes in 1981. After a stint as an assistant for Gene Davis at Furman, Nibert returned to PC in
1989, this time as the head coach.
Nibert, a 1979 graduate of Marietta College, is married to the former Peggy Harling of Simpsonville, S.C., and
the couple has two sons, Shaun (18) and Van (14). Shaun is a freshman at PC and Van is a freshman at Clinton
High School.
