Integrated Load-Carriage System (ILCS)
The user community is currently working on requirements for
the next generation of tactical load carrying gear
•This may result in a next generation of load carrying
equipment known as Integrated Load Carriage System (ILCS).
•Interoperability with body armor systems will be the focus of kit
design.
Individual First Aid Kit II (IFAK II)
 The Army is seeking smaller/lower profile packaging for the
following medical items carried in the IFAK with a minimum
shelf life of 5 years and made in the USA.

Program Purpose
The On-the-Move Hydration (OTMH) System will
provide a hands-free, on-the-move hydration
capability to warfighters conducting missions of all
types in all environments
OTMH Description:
Overview

On the Move Hydration is a Product Manager Soldier Clothing & Individual
Equipment (PM-SCIE) designation that covers two distinct programs:
- Multi-purpose Personal Hydration System (MPHS)
 Proponent: Maneuver Support Center of Excellence (MSCoE), U.S.
Army Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear (CBRN) School
 Purpose: Provide a hands free personal hydration system for use in a
CBRN environment
- Individual Water Treatment Device (IWTD)
 Proponent: Maneuver Center of Excellence (MCoE),
 Purpose: Provide Water Filtration/Purification capability at the
individual level

The systems will be based on commercially available CBRN resistant
materials, reservoirs, and water purification/filtration devices
Current Methods of
Water Carriage

2 Qt Canteen
Cold Weather Canteen
Multi-Purpose Personal Hydration System
(MPHS)
OBJECTIVE: To replace the canteen as the primary
method of water carriage and hydration by the
individual Soldier in a CBRN environment.
SYSTEM DESCRIPTION:
• A Chemical/Biological (CB) agent and Toxic Industrial
Chemical (TIC) resistant hydration system
• Provides hands free hydration while performing mission
essential duties in a CB environment
• Functions both independently and while connected to the
protective mask
• Compatible with current and developmental CBRN
protective masks, ensembles, and individual load carrying
equipment.
MPHS Status




Evaluation has been completed with MPHS candidates satisfying the Key Performance
Parameters (KPPs) for use in a CBRN environment, mask compatibility, and other
requirements
Army Test & Evaluation Command has provided a letter supporting the Full Rate
Production (FRP) and Full Material Release (FMR) of these items
MPHS Type-Classification and FRP decisions expected in 1QFY15
Expected to be added to the Federal Procurement List
