Our Center is sporting a clean new look! After months of anticipation
and preparation, the interior of the Ed Brown Center has finally received a
new coat of paint! We apologize for any inconvenience our closure may have
caused, but we feel the results were worth the effort! Thanks to our staff and
volunteers, every interior wall (including the restrooms!) is fresh and clean.
Special thanks to our own Jose and his brother, Omar, and Petra Pentacostal
for their hard work and a fantastic job!
On behalf of the staff and Board of Directors at the Ed Brown Senior
Center, we would like to wish each and everyone of you a happy and healthy
holiday. No matter what holiday you celebrate, may peace and joy be with
you as we end 2012. Family and friends are most important to us this time
of year, and we think of our members and business associates as part of our
family.
We wish you a season filled with beautiful moments and cherished
memories. May every joy be yours this holiday season!

Friday Night at the Movies
On Friday, November 16, approximately one dozen people attended the return of
Movie Night at the Ed Brown Senior Center. We watched the wonderful film, Don
Juan DeMarco, and enjoyed fresh popcorn, water and coffee. Stay tuned for our
next “Friday Night at the Movies” coming in January.

means searching for a new spot.
The holidays are also a time
when thieves and con artists are
frequently on the prowl. Here
are some tips to help keep your
home, your car, your possessions,
and your family safe.
•
Avoid displaying gifts
where they can be seen from a
window or doorway.
•
Arrange to have packages
delivered to a neighbor if you’re
not home to receive them.
Packages left on porches or
doorsteps are “easy picking” for
thieves. It also draws unwanted
attention to your home.
•
Consider simple outside
decorations. Elaborate or large
lawn pieces are often stolen right
out of the lawn. Be sure not
to obscure the view from your
windows. You need a clear view
of your property.
•
Always lock your home’s
doors and windows, even if
you’re only gone for a few
minutes.
•
Compact or dispose of
packaging discreetly. Often
criminals will spot something
you’ve discarded and can target
you for their next burglary or
theft.
•
Notify RSVP when you’re
planning an absence, as they will
patrol your home.
