STEM “Rockin’ The Spring
& Summer
One of our longtime favorite
bands is Stem and they are gearing up for spring and summer.”
Getting ready for this time of
year is a lot of fun for the band,”
so says Nick Brambilla the lead
on vocals for the group. “ We’re
booking up the block parties
as we get more and more each
year and “yes” we love doing
the backyard events. You know,
I think every musician has played
them starting out in a band, but
then you move on to the bars
and clubs. We never stopped
doing them kind of gigs, ah... we
really like playing them cause’
it’s our roots. Heck it’s what
summer is all about. The summer
to us its just one big party with
many new friends and all of our
old friends plus it’s free beer!!
We like that for sure”, he says,
OOT: WHAT IS STEM ALL ABOUT?
NICK - We are a people band and we bring
anyone up on stage that wants to be apart of
the fun. No rules - No ego’s with us.
OOT: Any people you wish to send out
shouts to?
NICK - Heck we have to thank all of our
myspace friends and OOT readers who continue to come out and just love to party and
support the band.
OOT: Do you have any new places you will
be going to this spring?
NICK - We are going to a new place called
Mc Stew’s Irish Pub, formerly the AJ’s Original
Sports Bar, in Levittown Pa., and we also play
at these steady places: DA BAR, THE EDDINGTON HOUSE, WHISKEY TANGO and
JOKER’s Bar and Grill.
Stem is Nick Brambilla - lead vocals, Brendan
O’ Boyle-lead Guitar, Dominic Turnreno-Bass,
Bob Busch -Drums. This is one fun band to

SMOKEEATERS SPECIAL CELEBRITY
BARTENDERS NIGHT FOR THE FAMILY OF
POLICE OFFICER SGT. STEPHEN LICZBINSKI
WAS AN AMAZING EVENT!
photos by Mike Vagnoni
The crowd of 400 plus turned out for the
celebrity bartenders night held in the honor
for the family of Sgt. Stephen Liczbinski, the
Phila Police officer who was killed in the line
of duty. This night was held at SmokeEaters
in Mayfair, and was a true tribute night for
this man and his family. The officer’s patrol car
was parked out front and family and friends
of this Phila. hero came by and did show the
respect and love that they had for one of
Philadelphia’s finest. The event was sparked by
some of the friends and staff at SmokeEaters...
and the outpouring of people was just amazing to see. In attendence we did meet Officer
Licbinski’s brother Marty, who was wearing a
Flyers jersey and his son Marty Jr. Food was
donated and special T-shirts were offered.
Special thanks to the many friends who did
show up. Many area firefighters came by also,
and we did see a group of fireman from the
Newportville Fire Company who came in a
show of support. We at OOT thank each and
everyone who made this a special night for
the family. Here are some of the photos from
the night.

THE GIN BLOSSOMS
SHOWING NO SIGNS OF
SLOWING DOWN
By Rob Nagy
It is hard to believe that the Gin Blossoms
have reached the status of becoming
rock and roll veterans. While enduring
the many highs and lows of being a hit
rock band, The Gin Blossoms created a
signature sound that is still as fresh and
vibrant today as it was when they burst
onto the music scene more than two
decades ago. Having released an impressive catalog of studio albums, compilations
and concert DVD’s , the Gin Blossoms are
still very much alive and doing what they
About You” filled the airwaves with their
respective videos receiving heavy rotation
on MTV helping to catapult record sales
of over one million copies sold. While all
seemed in place with the Gin Blossoms
founding member and principle song
writer Doug Hopkins tragically took his
life in December of 1993. With concern
that the Gin Blossoms would be unable
to rebound from such a deep personal
loss and fill the songwriting void left by
Hopkins, they quickly regrouped pulling
do best “Writing great pop songs that are
timeless.”
Based out of Tempe, Arizona the Gin
Blossoms were first conceived in 1987.
After a series of personnel changes the
bands line-up was solidified by the time
of their independent self released debut
“Dusted” in 1989. Catching on with the
club scene as well as college radio major
labels took notice finding the Gin Blossoms signing with A & M Records in 1990.
The following year the band released their
impressive debut “Up & Crumbling”. Everything was now in place to take the Gin
Blossoms to success on a national level.
Nineteen ninety-three was the breakthrough year the band had been waiting
for. Their first hit single “Hey Jealousy”
followed by their follow-up “Found Out
themselves together and embarking on a
rebirth. Two years later the Gin Blossoms
contributed the single “Till I Hear It from
You”, co-written with Marshall Crenshaw,
as a part of the soundtrack of the film
“Empire Records”. While the song was
never officially released as a single it became a big hit for the band. After nearly a
decade of non-stop touring and recording
the Gin Blossoms released their final studio album “Congratulations….I’m Sorry”,
which did chart for a number of months
and was followed by a successful tour.
Ten years after their inception the Gin
Blossoms called it quits in 1997 with band
members choosing to pursue individual
efforts. The break-up proved to be temporary when on New Year’s Eve2001 they
once again graced the concert together.
“Our other bands broke up”, recalls lead
singer Robin Wilson. “We looked at each
other and said ‘Let’s give this another try.
It was nothing too complicated we just
found a way to start playing together again.
It made a lot of sense at the time. Nobody
was fighting it and it just fell together.” The
following summer they did a summer tour
releasing a live DVD. The Gin Blossoms
were indeed back and showing no signs of
slowing down. Over the next four years
two new releases came out “Dusted”
(2002) and their most recent studio effort “Major Lodge Victory” (2006). “Our
2006 album did well”, recalls Wilson, “We
were on an independent label and we
only had so much reach. We were unable
to re-establish America’s awareness of
our existence, which was disappointing.
We are hoping with our next record to
make some headway in that direction.
We have a great batch of new material
that I am really excited about.” While the
days of signing a major record contract
for most bands has come and gone, the
Gin Blossoms are using their independent
status and the internet presence to build
and maintain a solid fan base. “You don’t
need a record company to get you into
record stores because record stores don’t
exist today”, says Wilson. “That was a
big part of the resources spent at major
labels, it was the retail division and now it
doesn’t exist anymore. Selling CD’s isn’t
something record companies are making
money off of. A band like us that is already
established we have 30,000 myspace
friends, we can easily make our records
and sell them directly to those 30,000
people without anyone’s assistance. That
makes it entirely possible for us to continue to do this. With another summer
concert season upon us the Gin Blossoms
are busier than ever playing clubs, theatres,
casinos and music festivals to rave reviews
while preparing a new release, their first
in two years, due later this year. “We are
working on new material”, says Wilson.
“We are always writing. We just began, a
few months ago, to present new songs to
each other and start to demo them. It’s a
slow process when you’re always playing.
I would hope by the end of the year we
have got it recorded.” While it is obvious
that the Gin Blossoms are still a viable act
with lots of mileage left, they are most appreciative of their history and the blessing
of having their own piece of a cluttered
music industry as Wilson recalls. “The first
time you’re on MTV or the first time you
play a stadium, those types of things only
happen once. Signing a record contract on
the hood of a car, great singular moments
that you don’t get to ever have twice.
We’re lucky we got to do all that. Now
we’re grown up veterans. We have families
and we’re still doing it playing rock and roll
music. We are very lucky to still be doing,
what we are doing.”
On May 11, 2008 the Gin Blossoms,
featuring Robin Wilson on vocals, Bill Lee
on bass, Scotty Johnson Jesse Valenzuela
on guitar and Scott Kusmirek on drums,
played two sold out shows at the Sellersville Theatre in Sellersville, PA. In honor
of Mothers Day several band members
sported suits and white patent leather
shoes. Front man Robin Wilson commented during the show “That he must have
not gotten the memo on the stage attire
for tonight’s show.” The Gin Blossoms
flawlessly banged out a 75 minute set of all
their classics as well as some lesser known
songs. Highlights included “Found out
About You”, “Alison Road”, “Hey Jealousy”
and “Until I Fall Away”. The Gin Blossoms
will continue to tour into the fall with a
new release expected by years end. Based
on tonight’s performance and the crowds
reception, look for the Gin Blossoms to
return to Sellersville in the near future.

RUSH DELIVERY
Well now…guess who fell asleep at the wheel last issue? Yep, me. I have
an excuse, though. I just turned FORTY!!!! What the hell?!??!? I still can’t
believe it. My birthday was May 9th which was also Mother’s Day weekend,
and I went to NV to spend the week with Mom & Dad. I completely flaked
on my deadline date and thought I had an extra week. Wrong! So I’m
back, older and evidently more forgetful.
ON THE STREET
Summertime is coming and the northeast concert season is kicking off
hard. Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers and Steve Winwood appear at
Wachovia Center for not one but two dates, 6/5 & 6/08. PA’s own Bret
Michaels does a solo gig at the AC House of Blues on 6/13/08. I hear it’s a
great show where he plays both his own songs as well as old Poison hits.
Rush has two area dates, the first at Wachovia Center on 6/14/08 and again
on the Fourth of July in Atlantic City’s Mark G. Etess Arena. Local legend
Robert Hazard plays the Sellersville Theater with The Refugees on 6/14/08.
Susquehanna Bank Center is metal-ized by Iron Maiden on 6/17/08 then
tones it down with Pearl Jam on 6/19/08. Stevie Nicks has two dates,
6/20 & 21/08 at the Borgata Casino, and the Hot Topic Summer Slaughter
Tour invades the Troc on 6/25/08 and Starland Ballroom in Sayreville on
6/28/08. This brutal line up features such sweetheart acts as Aborted, Despised Icon, Kataklysm, Psycroptic, The Black Dahlia Murder, The Faceless,
Whitechapel, Born of Osiris, Cryptopsy, and Poland’s finest,Vader. For you
old school hardcore punk fans, the Butthole Surfers cruise the Electric Factory on 6/27/08. If punk isn’t your game, Chimaira, Dethklok and Soilent
Green are at the Fillmore – TLA the same night. Coldplay plays Wachovia
Center on 6/29/08, and the Black Crowes nest at the Fillmore – TLA for
3 days on July 1, 2, & 3. And last but not least, the Jaegermeister Music
Tour featuring Type O. Negative, SOiL, Wednesday 13 and others hits the
Starland in Sayreville on 7/1/08 and at the Troc on 7/2/08.
OFF THE BEAT
So how about those American Idol results? Yes, I get sucked into several
of the “competitive reality” shows every year, and AI is one of them. My favorite? Nah, not by a long shot. My faves are So You Think You Can Dance
and America’s Got Talent, but I do enjoy AI.
That said, this year bored the crap out of me! What a bunch of nopersonality lameness. My bf and I identified our favorites from the get-go
and were bummed to lose Chikezie and Brooke pretty early but we knew
neither would have won anyway. We pegged David Archuleta right away
and were sure he was going to win, although David
Cook was our hands down favorite and by far the
most talented all around. I have to say I was really
disappointed that Cook won, not because I didn’t
think he deserved it. He definitely did, but the AI
machine is a powerful one and often the winners
get caught up and dumped out without knowing
what hit them.
I think Cook is smart, talented, professional,
and strong enough to ward off the heavy hands of
Clive Davis and Nigel Lythgoe. I just hope he gets
to control most of his own destiny, unlike the vast
majority of previous AI champs.
had the opportunity not only to see James play live on
Tax Day on the Megadeth Gigantour, I also got to chat
with him before the show!
KR: Tell me about James Lomenzo. You’re kind of a
background guy, the perfect bass player, that steady
background rhythm player.
JL: This has been going around for awhile, this concept
of what the hell I’m still doing this for?
KR: Oh no, that’s not what I’m saying at all, you’ve
just been this steady presence for so long – White
Lion all those years, Pride & Glory, and now Megadeth…
JL:You know it’s funny, we had so much success with
White Lion, it was so meteoric in its time.
KR: Yeah, I remember seeing White Lion in Staten
Island and at L’Amour in Brooklyn.
JL: That was a beautiful, golden time. Just the other
day, David [Mustaine] mentioned, he said, “Oh we
filmed ‘Peace Sells’ in L’Amour’s.” That club was
literally eight streets or small little blocks in Brooklyn
away where I grew up. That was a good little crawl
space to figure out what was going on. I can still
remember sitting in there, a little after hours, towards
the end of the evening on a Sunday night, and Iron
Maiden came in. There was Bruce and the drummer, and they were all sitting around the table and I
thought, “Wow, of all places in the world they came to
this little nucleus.”
KR: But I know you weren’t a metal guy or Megadeth
fan.
JL:You know it was interesting, just before White Lion
had taken off I had heard some early Megadeth stuff, I
didn’t even know what songs they were until the last
couple of years. When I joined Megadeth a couple
years back I told Dave straightaway, “I’d love to do this
but I have to caution you, I’m an old blues bachelor.
I’m not the metal maven.” And he said, “I know. What
we do is we do blues, just a lot faster. Start slow and
you’ll get there.”
KR: You guys are virtually the same age, right? What’s
it like being almost 50 and still doing this?
JL: I think it’s fantastic. If I wasn’t still doing this at
this level with such a great band like Megadeth, I’d
probably stop. I’ve had those moments of doubt. The
years in between projects and between bands when

about that we have a lot of videotape
that we’re going to work on. We’re trying
to form a production company. We can
certainly do our own media, there’s no
reason to farm it out, I mean technically
we know how to do it. So those ideas
are there.
KR: But?
JL: I’ve been doing this for SO long, much
like a lot of other people I respect. The
nervous thing? People ask me, do I get
nervous before I go onstage? No. I’ll be
sleeping on the couch!
Plus we are constantly spinning wheels on
different ways to expand on Megadeth’s
popularity from the business end. It’s
expensive to bring these tours out. This
tour goes on for another 4 weeks then
we break away and do a Megadeth South
America tour.
KR: What is it like to be exposed to
David’s politics?
JL: I actually share some of his views.
When I joined this band I was amazed. I

My billboards were on buses and that

I also love the art of [music] production,
KR: What do you see as your future?
JL: We’re certainly planning another

HOOTS & HOLLERS
This time I need to holler good and loud
about freaking GAS PRICES!!! What on
earth is going ON with that??? I drive a
diesel VW Beetle and am paying nearly
$4.50 a gallon for fuel!!! WHAT??? Diesel needs very little refining and shouldn’t
come anywhere near the price of gasoline, yet it’s $.75 MORE per gallon? There
is something SO rotten in Denmark
with this BS that I can smell it all the way
down here. Shortage, schmortage! It’s
a lie. We, the PEOPLE, have got to unite
and figure out some way to back the
greedy oil companies and government off.
This has gotten to the point of ridiculous
verging on insane. What is it going to
take to finally piss us off enough to do
something about it? Five bucks a gallon?
Ten? Remember when you thought the
idea of $3 was absurd and couldn’t happen? What’s your limit? I crossed mine a

Ok, rant over. As always, thanks as always
for dropping in! Feel free to be in touch

see ya in a few weeks and until then – go
out and enjoy some of that great Philly
nightlife!

This ain’t your
Daddy’s Bonk’s Bar
28
with Crabby-Patty-Pat Kozlowski
(and that’s OK)
For Rich Sites, it all began with a
“dirty” crab. And by dirty, we mean
a crab pulled right out of the pot
and served, letting the eater do all
the work and cleaning. Some people
prefer their crabs dirty, they like the
taste of the crab meat seasoned with,
well-what my dad used to tell us was
mustard, but the smell and the taste
proved otherwise.
About a year ago, Sites was told the
best place to eat crabs in Philly was a
place called Bonk’s Bar, in the shadow
of I-95 in Port Richmond along the
busy Richmond Street. When Sites
finally found the bar and saw the outside, he thought he was lost, it wasn’t
much to look at. Inside wasn’t much
better, with sticky floor, mismatched
tables and chairs, a neverending loop
of 3 Stooges shorts on the TV, Sites
had his doubts but when he was
served, he knew he found the best
place to eat crabs in Philly.
Bonk’s Bar was a legend, not only
in the Port Richmond riverwards, but
in the City. A place where you could
get the handmade and formed Momburger, a dozen pick and peel shrimp,
pulled out of the hot steam bath of
Old Bay and other secret spices and
served on a paper plate with kick-ass
cocktail sauce and yes, those crabs.
Cleaned or dirty, the crabs came out
on a cafeteria style tray with a boil
of steaming crab juice that had more
people guessing the ingredients than
JFK’s assassins.
When you went to Bonk’s for
crabs, you wore a t-shirt you didn’t
mind getting dirty and you always
remembered to not only wash your
hands after going to the bathroom,
but more importantly-before. The
crab juice was spicy and addictive.
So when the landmark of Bonk’s
went on the real estate market, Sites
knew this is the bar he wanted. Not
only did he buy the property, but he
bought the name and that crab recipe
too.
He bought the bar in October 2007
and made some changes but just like
the crab recipe, he keep the things
that mattered most.
Tin ceilings used t o be synonymous with corner tap rooms back
in the day, and Sites took notice and
appreciated the copper colored tin
ceiling that enclosed Bonk’s Bar. After
a much needed cleaning and painting,
the tin ceiling, with well placed soffit
lighting, is back in all its glory. And
over his dead body, he was not getting
rid of the bar.
Handcarved wood and stained a
dark cherry, the bar at Bonk’s is the
epitome of an old fashion watering
hole, a shot and a beer place, a bar
that you could drink at.
The sign outside still reeks of old
school advertising-Bonk’s Bar written
in blue on a illuminated white sign, and
of course, a silhouette of a crab.
And that is where the nostalgia
stops. Sites plowed through the rest
of the bar, breaking through and opening up the dining area to meet the bar
and then tackled the menu, knowing
that even though he had the best
damned crabs in Philly-and the secret
recipe to the crab juice-he’d still need
some accompaniments.
“I know what I like-good food, so
that’s where I started,” he said. With
an Italian mother who always fed her
boy and a stint working at Monticinni’s Pizza, Sites added a butter and
garlic sauteed crab to the menu.
When Bonk’s crabs meet Mama
Site’s recipe in a hot sautee pan full
of fresh garlic, extra virgin olive oil
and plenty of melted butter, the smell
drifts out to the bar and heads turn
toward the kitchen doors. The same
with their popular crab bisque-which
doesn‘t have a glamorous backstory,
but has a huge following, making it
one of their best sellers.
“My girlfriend found a basic crab
bisque recipe on the internet,” the
always bandannaed Sites admits.
“So we started with that and kept
tweaking it, adding some more spice
and cream until we loved the taste.”
So do customers. Even though its
advertised on the menu board, even
without the sign the bowls of the
terra cotta colored bisque with a
side of crusty bread move out of the
kitchen.
That’s another important piece of
info. The bread. Bonk’s now serves all
their sandwiches, from their roasted
pork, roast beef, Philly cheesesteaks
on none other than Sarcone’s seeded
rolls and bread. The roast beef is
served with a drinkable au jus and
their roast pork with sharp provolone and hot peppers gets topped with
the best horseradish in the worldZayda’s, a locally made brand that
gets peddled the old fashion way by
Steve “The Pickleman” who still goes
bar to bar selling the condiment that
makes eyes water and cocktail sauce
worth a double dip of the shrimp.
When Sites first opened his
kitchen, he left one bar favorite off
the menu-pizza. But his customers
kept asking for it since bar pizza,
usually the equivlent to carnival
pizza (and there’s nothing wrong
with that!) Goes great with a pint.
Sites could have simply bought a
few dozen frozen pizza kits and the
customers would have been happy
but like he said, he knows what he
likes, he likes good food so he serves
his pizza on Sarcone bakery pizza
shells, a combination of crispy and
thick crust topped with a sweet
tomato sauce atop, fresh mozzarella
and provolone and get this-thick cut
hearty pepperoni. Bar pizza it is not,
but nobody’s complaining cause their
mouth is always full.
On any given night, Bonk’s will
have a cast of characters. You have
the guys from Philadelphia Gas
Works, getting off their shift from the
PGW tanks two blocks away, pulling
up to the bar, still in their overalls
and safety goggles, grabbing a pint of
draft beer and watching the evening
news to see what the Phils are up to
down in Clearwater, Florida during
Spring Training.
Guys from Tioga Marine Terminal
also come in for the sandwiches,
dressed in dungarees and play better
rock and roll from the $5 bill they
push into the jukebox than any DJ on
the radio.
Groups of ladies, in their designer
jeans, Coach bags and yes, Jimmy
Choo heels even visit Bonk’s-not for
the crabs but for the wicked martinis
the weekend barmaid serves. Bonk’s
has become the spot to go to before
they hit the 2nd Street scene in Old
City.
And of course, you still got the
neighborhood people, who remember the old Bonk’s, the sticky floors,
the mismatched table and chairs
and yes, even the 3 Stooges replaying again and again who come in and
see what happened to one of their
beloved watering holes.
They’ll find that Wednesday nights
is karaoke with Jack Keenan and
on Thursday nights at 8 p.m., the
stage opens up for an Open Mic
night where everyone and anyone
is invited to grab the mic and sign,
tell jokes, play the guitar-you name
it and they’ll do it on the mic. On a
recent Thursday, a bald fellow, built
like a bulldog brought his acoustic
and covered Jimmy Buffet songs like
it was nobody’s business. He could
have played an entire concert on
the corner of Tioga and Richmond
Streets but he’s a Merchant Marine
who’s ship was heading out of Tioga
Pier. Hopefully, when he’s docked in
Philly again, it’ll be a Thursday night
and he’ll grab his guitar and head to
Bonk’s.
On Sunday, race fans can find $1
pints and 1⁄2 price wings during car
racing season. Bonk’s calls it Vinnie
Nascar Sunday, a nod to a guy named
Vinnie who became their first regular
and never left.Vinnie loves Nascar
and during the race he eats wings,
drinks pints and gives a lap by lap
commentary of what’s going on from
until the checkered flag is dropped.
Yep, this ain’t your daddy’s Bonk’s
Bar, but with the way things are going,
the old man just might take a likening
to it.

SEVEN began in the 90’s as a virtually unknown “cover” group and ended the
century as one of the most widely followed
rock bands in the Bucks County Area. The
Irish rockers were influenced initially by the
energy of playing in front of an enthusiastic
audience, with party music you can sing &
dance to. “We Pride ourselves on having a
great time and being tight as a band.”
says founder CJ O’Neill , “We always have a
great time and love the new people that we

WMMR CELEBRATES FORTY ROCKIN’ YEARS!
By: Steve Trager
As we look back
over the glorified years
that rock radio has
given Philadelphia such
a diverse taste, we can
surly say that WMMR
has paved that way for
its listening fan base.
We come to expect the
finest library of choice
in music and we get
with “Everything That
Rocks” slogan. WMMR
has brought to the
table some of the finest
on- air personalities that
pioneered the station
from its early days in
the mid sixties to the
current present. With
the third annual WMMR
BBQ under their belt,
this one seems to stand
out the best in concert
entertainment. Doesn’t
matter rain or shine
still the rock vibe was
in full effect with loads
of pre- tailgating in the
parking lots and radios
blearing WMMR music
throughout the air, we
knew that this was
going to be a great day
worth of music. We
celebrate not only forty
years that WMMR has
given us some of the
best rock music ever, we
celebrated the continue
success of a generation
of music that has grown
twice its size both locally and worldwide. The
stellar lineup this year
put a bottle cap on the
last two for sure. The
music speaks for it’s self
with three local home
grown talents that
including “The Hooters”
and “Silvertide”, Every
set went by so quick
if you blinked an eye
you would miss a song
or two. However, this
year’s WMMR BBQ
show certainly inked
the books for everyone
that couldn’t wait for
the eager return to the
stage after seven long
years in absence Stone
Temple Pilots who just
seem to play like they
left the stage. Some of
the greatest highlights
from this show were
from Australia’s own
“Airbourn” who remind
me of a cross between
ly performed as well
as others including but
not missing “Dead and
Bloated”, “Crackerman”, “ Creep”, and
“Sour Girl”. Perhaps
this is an indication
that “Stone Temple
Pilots”
Have the ability to
re-create the timeless
classics that have
spawned their career
from the beginning
in their live set as
nearly a sold out
house watched and
soaked up every
guitar riff from Dean
DeLeo.Yet nothing really completes
“Stone Temple Pilots”
without Scott Weiland
who works the crowd
into a complete frenzy
with his charismatic
personality both as a
musician and brilliant
song writer. Hard
to believe it’s been
seven years for this
band to reform and
sound so close nit as
if they never fell apart
musically. I have to say
this show with “Stone
Temple Pilots” was
surly the groundbreaker for everyone who
walked in and out of
the Susquehanna Bank
Center in Camden
New Jersey. We leave
an open question can
WMMR top this BBQ
radio concert event
with another stellar
lineup? I personally
don’t think that’s possible, nothing beats a
historical performance
with “Stone Temple Pilots” capping out such
a huge celebration
under one event.
ac/dc and jet. Pure fueled guitars with adrenaline that once they hit
the stage it was a quick
kick in your face rock
show. Another great
performance was from
local boys “The Hooters” who were featured
on WMMR’s local show
called street beat. These
guys seemingly pulled
out all the hits from
eighties that made them
famous that including “
All You Zombies” as one
of Philly’s local pioneers
in great talent. The facial
expressions from Eric
Brazilian while as he
watched vigorous continuous mosh pits and
crowd surfing to every
song was an eye opener.
The Hooters aren’t
metal nor are they punk;
yeah sure it gives it nice
twist to their show. But
I would consider “The
Hooters” to be a class
act all by themselves.
As the day progressed
and time went by in
a flash, the stage was
set for the next three
Headliners ranging
from “ Everclear” who
out due themselves
by bringing every hot
girl they can fit on the
stage in their set with
performing their cover
of 867- 5309 ( Jenny ).
As always “Staind “packs
a pure punch pulling
out all their hits. Fans
want to hear the hits
and you basically get
that everything from
“Mudshovel” to “It’s
been a while” to “Right
Here” and those hits
crammed in between
which makes “Staind”
such a great band live
in all their glory time
after time. Honestly
this year’s WMMR radio
event locked in one the
most influential bands
of the evening in the
hot seat “ Stone Temple
Pilots” who seemed to
never miss a musical
beat from the moment
front man Scott Weiland
began to crank out the
first song of the set. All
those great songs from
Core, that kicked “Stone
Temple Pilots” career
into obit were gracious-

Astrology
By Psychic Perry B.
Aries (March 21-April 19) The warmer weather has increased your
energy level and, you might be trying to do more then you can handle.
Be direct with those around you and, they will fall into line. Taking one
thing at a time will ease the job. Be less hard on yourself and you will see
things working out.
Taurus (April 20-May 20) Do not allow people around you to alter your
direction they may have their own agenda. Take the advice but do what
you are comfortable with. Be sure that the path you are taking is really
where you want to go. Just because someone is difficult does not mean
you have to bend to their way of thinking.
Gemini (May 21-June 20) It will be difficult for you but do not make
snap decisions at this time. Be up to date on what is going on around you
and, you will be in a better position to move to where you want to go.
You may tend to want to be a people pleaser but it will not get you what
you want.
Cancer (June 21-July 22) Keep your sights on what you are after and,
it will come to you. Others will try to send you in different directions.
Work hard to stay on your path. Discuss your needs with a loved one
and that will make clear to both of you what your needs really are. Diplomacy is important in this matter.
Leo (July 23-Aug. 22) Taking a stand on a problem is not the best idea.
You will find it too hard on those around you. Seek another path and, you
will find things better then you are seeing them. Rely on someone close
to you for advice they will see things differently then you are seeing them.
Virgo (Aug. 23-Sept. 22) This in not the time to take a risk. It might be
going over the top. Staying your course will bring you better results. You
can correct the problem with a loved one by talking about the problem.
You will find that the solution may not be as difficult as you think.
Libra (Sept. 23-Oct. 22) The time has come to rethink where you are going in a relationship. Spring is here and the opportunities are better. Get
out into the world and see what is out there. You know that little black
dress you have in the closet, put it on and party.
Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 21) Others understand much more then you
think. Listen to them. You will get an outside point of view that will enlighten you more then you think. Doing it your way is not always the best
of plans. Sometimes being too close to the problem causes you not to
see all that is involved.
Sagittarius (Nov.22-Dec. 21) Listening to your instincts will put you
on the right path. Be in tuned with your early warning system. You know
that feeling when something is not right? It usually means that something
is not right. Look a little closer and, find the flaw in your system. Correcting your ways is better self done then being done by others.
Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan 19) You are creative by nature but you do not
always use you creativity to do what you want to do. Taking the easy way
out is not the answer. Rethink your project and be more creative in your
actions. You will see that those above you will look at you in a different
manner.
Aquarius (Jan.20-Feb 18) It is more important then you think to make
an appearance at a family function. It may not change anything. It will prevent them from talking about you behind your back. You might be a little
uncomfortable for the moment, but remember there are those who are
feeling the same way. Seek a friendly corner and stay there. The buffet
table is always the best place to be seen.
Pisces (Feb. 19-March 20) Thinking before you act is always the best idea.
Sometimes you have to bite your tongue however. You have very strong
opinions, and they may be valid. Expressing your opinions now is not the
right time. There are those around you that fear what you might say and
will keep their distance from you because of that.

MILES AN HOUR.
RYAN REUNION WITH DOREEN
DOREEN AND I WERE SITTING AT HER BORING ASS RYAN
HIGH SCHOOL REUNION, AND I KEPT STARING AT THIS
DRUNKEN DUDE SWIGGING HIS DRINK AS HE SAT ALL
ALONE AT A NEARBY TABLE.
DOREEN LEANED OVER TO ME AND SAID “ I KNOW HIM”
“OH YEAH?” I SAID “WHO IS HE?”
“HEʼS MY OLD BOYFRIEND. AMBER TOLD ME THAT
HE STARTED DRINKING RIGHT AFTER WE SPLIT UP
ALL THOSE YEARS AGO AND HE HASNʼT BEEN SOBER
SINCE.”
Q - HOW DO YOU KNOW WHEN ITʼS
TIME TO WASH DISHES AND CLEAN THE
HOUSE?
A - LOOK INSIDE YOUR PANTS; IF YOU
HAVE A PENIS, ITʼS NOT TIME.
BRADLEY AND JOSEPH
LITTLE JOSEPH AND HIS GRANDFATHER
BRADLEY WERE WALKING THROUGH
PENNYPACK THE OTHER DAY AND
JOSEPH REMEMBERED THAT IT WAS
“NO SHIT !” I SAID TO DOREEN. “WHO WOULD THINK HIS GRANDFATHERʼS BITHDAY, SO HE
THAT A PERSON COULD CELEBRATE FOR THAT LONG?” STOPPED AND SAID “HAPPY BIRTHDAY
POPPIE!”
MY ACCIDENT - HOW THE FIGHT STARTED “WHY THANK YOU JOSEPH” BRADLEY
REPLIED.
I REAR ENDED A CAR THIS MORNING ON FRANKFORD LITTLE JOSEPH THEN ASKED HIS GRANDFATHER HOW OLD HE WAS GOING TO
AVENUE ON MY WAY INTO WORK WITH MY TRUCK.
BE, AND BRADLEY TOLD HIM, “60.”
SO IʼM SITTING ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD GETTING
MY REGISTRATION AND INSURANCE TOGETHER, AND
JOSEPH WAS QUIET FOR A MOMENT,
AND THEN HE TURNED TO HIS
GRANDFATHER AND SAID, “DID YOU
START AT 1?”
BROOKE AND BRINN
BROOKE AND BRINN ARE UPSTAIRS IN
THEIR BEDROOM.
“YOU KNOW WHAT?” SAYS BROOKE?
“I THINK ITʼS ABOUT TIME WE STARTED
CUSSING.”
BRINN NODS HER HEAD IN APPROVAL.
BROOKE CONTINUES, “WHEN WE GO
DOWNSTAIRS FOR BREAKFAST, IʼM
GONNA SAY SOMETHING WITH HELL
AND YOU SAY SOMETHING WITH ASS.”
BRINN AGREES WITH ENTHUSIASM.
THEIR MOTHER WALKS INTO THE
KITCHEN AND ASKS BROOKE WHAT SHE
WANTS FOR BREAKFAST.
SHE REPLIES, “AW, HELL, MOM, I GUESS
IʼLL HAVE SOME CHEERIOS.”
WHACK !!!
SHE FLIES OUT OF HER CHAIR, TUMBLES
ACROSS THE KITCHEN FLOOR, GETS
UP, AND RUNS UPSTAIRS CRYING HER
EYES OUT, WITH HER MOTHER IN HOT
PURSUIT, SLAPPING HER REAR WITH
EVERY STEP.
HER MOM SHUTS HER IN HER ROOM
AND SHOUTS, “YOU CAN STAY THERE
UNTIL I SAY YOU CAN COME OUT!”
SHE THEN COMES BACK DOWNSTAIRS,
LOOKS AT BRINN AND ASKS WITH A
STERN VOICE, “AND WHAT DO YOU
WANT FOR BREAKFAST?”
“I DONʼT KNOW,” BRINN BLUBBERS,
“BUT YOU CAN BET YOUR FAT ASS IT
AINʼT CHEERIOS!”
