With such a stellar resumé, it’s refreshing to learn that what Bernadette
Thompson loves most is working with people: as she once put it, “Rock
star or girl-next-door, for me, it’s all about the individual…introducing
them to a look or concept that may be new, but that’s still somehow all
about them and doesn’t look ‘put on’ or forced…” Explaining further,
Thompson points out, “I’ve worked with many of the world’s most
celebrated models, actresses and musical personalities—some of who
were at first wary of an unusual design or color I proposed. But then,
upon seeing the finished look, they end up inquiring about how to extend

Easily moving from on-location film and video work to fashion print and
editorial shoots, Thompson’s runway and advertising client list includes
the most prestigious fashion designers in the world—Marc Jacobs,
Hermés, Gucci,Valentino, Prada, Dolce & Gabbana,Versace, Escada, Hugo
Boss, Donna Karan and Calvin Klein among countless others. Perhaps
even more telling of the respect Bernadette Thompson has garnered
within the beauty industries are the many cosmetic companies who have
contracted her to consult on and create original designs by which to
introduce their own products into the market place. From Revlon and
Clinique to Estée Lauder and M.A.C. Cosmetics—Thompson’s cuttingedge color sense and camera-ready technical execution have made

With a strong following in the Hip-Hop and R&B community, Bernadette
has been the go-to nail artist of choice for such musical celebrities as

Vandross, Christina Aguilera, Lil’ Kim and Mary J. Blige—with whom
Thompson traveled on tour during Blige’s mega-hit world tour.

acting as a consultant for start-up projects within established fashion
