Dear HLs and SKs,
Wow it is almost August already and man is time flying by! I want to
personally thank all of those who helped with the Reception for the GRM and
GRP. HL Kathy my Mom, HL Sue and the Knotty Ladies and Sophisticated
Knights, HL Clara and HL Peggy from Willamette Court HL Carol for the
awesome decorations and SK “Hot Rod” as our Master of Ceremonies, my
husband SK Don (and yes I do owe him a dress/kilt as I forgot to introduce
him see photo below), SK Bill and SK Larry who manned the grill and well
anyone else who helped, your love and support shown that day was truly
amazing! I tried very hard not to refer to it as my reception because none
of us could go on this journey alone! It was a wonderful if not hot day at
Oaks Park. We were most honored to have our Grand Master and his Lady
attend and present our GRP with a Lewis Jewel. Please ask SK Wes to show
it to you it is very beautiful and a tribute to his family’s Masonic heritage. I
was crying during the ceremony and I wasn’t even getting the award! It
was a day of charity and friendship with well over $1,000.00 being donated
to our projects!
July was a busy month even though I only attended one court
meeting! The camp out was held in Welches and a fun time was had by all
who attended. We had a wonderful time for fellowship and fun. Thanks to
SK Wes for manning the grill at our potluck and those who came up just for
either the potluck or church service it was great to see the membership out
and about with family!
On the 25th a great group of us headed out to Yamhill and manned rest
stop #4 for the Tour de Cure! The damp weather didn’t dampen our spirits
and those of the riders! HL Patti and HL Kelly out did themselves again with
fun Irish/Celtic themed decorations and props and once again riders posed
for pics with our members! Thank you ladies for helping us to share our
Amaranth Spirit with these great riders! Please plan on helping us next year
HL Kelly already has a theme in place you never know what it might be!
Then many of us headed up to Tacoma that night to HL Judy Mosier’s
Reception where she announced SK Jerry Pinion as her choice as SRP! He is
a Past Grand Master of Alaska, a great skirt lifter and an all around
wonderful Sir Knight! Another member doing the great Pacific Northwest
Proud!! A nice group of us will be heading up to Alaska in a couple of weeks
to congratulate him and attend their Grand Court.
The very next morning we raced back (at a legal speed), to work our

3 Annual Amaranth Golf Tournament. The number of teams was down a bit
but the spirits of the golfers and volunteers was great! Challenges were met
and over come! I never knew you could drive a squishy marshmallow 155
feet! Big thank yous go out to SK Larry and SK Dick our co-chairs, SK Wes
the volunteer coordinator who generously spent his birthday with us, getting
the rest of us volunteers organized, and of course all those who served! I
look forward to seeing our final numbers.
Of course today we head out of this 100+ degree weather to head to
the coast for Oceanside’s Official Visit tomorrow. Dinner is at Stonecrest
Bistro tonight with a school of instruction at 10am and the Official Visit at
1pm tomorrow. HL Sue will be revealing her “Mr. Wonderful”! Have you
guessed who it is? Please keep those of us who are travelling in your
thoughts and prayers. I am sure pictures from the revealing will be up
coming in the newsletter and website.
If you aren’t doing anything on August 9th at 1pm the Royal Matron of
Halcyon Court in Longview, WA invites you to the Official Visit of the Grand
Royal Matron. Our humble little lodge is at 823 7 th Ave. in Longview, WA
98632 we will have a barbeque afterwards and the dress code is Hawaiian.
Please contact me and let me know if you would like to come. There are no
stairs at the lodge, easy access! Come see your GRM in action!
I’d like to share with you a line from the Campout Church Service from
Mother Teresa. “Not all of us can do great things. But we can do small
things with great love.” So continue to spread that Amaranth Love and I
look forward to seeing you on the Amaranth Trail.

Come one come all, learn a little or learn a lot.
Class is starting soon and seating is limited so get here early so you
can have a seat on the sidelines. If you’re late the only seats left might be
an officer’s seat and you’ll get the privilege of helping with the school.
That’s right, school of instruction at Oceanside, yes by the ocean, but
this is Oceanside Court #37. School first, then recess so you can play later,
well after their official visit that is.

OUT OF STATE SICKNESS AND CHEER
Hi Everyone,
HL Sylvia Saunders, PSRM from Florida had surgery today to replace the hip
that was fractured in her fall. They reinforced it as well. She is going to be in more pain
after this surgery than the last one. She will be transferred to the Rehab Center on
Monday or Tuesday of next week. My suggestion is to send cards to her home and her
son James will deliver them to her at the Rehab Center.

until further notice due to the fire at the Hillsboro Masonic Lodge

Arago Court---2nd Saturday at 7:00 pm except in July and August when they
are dark. They are meeting at the Glasgow Grange. It is located at the turn
off of Highway 101 at the North end of McCollough Bridge. Turn at the
light (you can only turn one way) and go approx. 1/2 mile. The Grange is in
front of the Fire Dept.)

Cherry Court---2nd Wednesday at 7:00 pm

They always have a dinner prior to their meeting. Dinners start at

make a trip to the beach on a nice summer day and stop in and see us.
