Miss M's to Open Second Location
in Grand Center
Grand Center is about to get sweeter! The second location of Miss M's Candy
Boutique, a staple in the Delmar Loop since 2010, will open May 1 on the
northeast corner of Grand and Olive, in the Metropolitan Artist Lofts Building.
We're looking forward to welcoming owner Sharon Echols and her family to the District, who all work
together to run the business. Miss M's is a specialty candy retailer and "premiere destination for any candy
lover," with a full line of homemade delights and nostalgic and popular candies. Ms. Echols—who named
the store in honor of her daughters, Meghan and Morghan, promises a unique experience in the Grand
Center location. Miss M's will add ice cream and beverages to its offerings, presented in a luxurious, grand
setting. We're as excited as kids in a candy store! Winners Selected for PXSTL
The Pulitzer Arts Foundation and Washington University's Sam Fox School of
Design & Visual Arts recently announced that architect Amanda Williams and
artist/educator Andres L. Hernandez have won the competition for the 2015-17
iteration of PXSTL, a design-build commission for a temporary structure that
will transform the site with community-based programs and events. The team
will teach an architecture studio at the Sam Fox School in Fall 2016; the PXSTL project will open to the

Pick Your Seat in Grand Center's
"Heart of the Community!"
Strauss Park, at the intersection of Grand and Washington, was one of seven
projects selected by Southwest Airlines for their "Heart of the Community"
initiative. Enhanced amenities include cool new furniture for hanging out, and
since it's everyone's park, we want YOU to "pick your seat" and vote for the
table and chair color! Cast your vote on Grand Center's Facebook page now
through 5 pm on Monday, March 7. Stay tuned to find out the winning color!

New Line Theatre presents American Idiot
New Line continues its 25th season with the powerful, high-octane, rock fable American Idiot, based on the
powerhouse album by Green Day, a scorching attack on what they saw as the hypocrisy and moral evils of
the Bush Administration after the attacks of Sept. 11, as well as the increasingly submissive nature of the
American public. The show will run March 3-26 at The Marcelle Theater. Buy tickets online today!
First Fridays
Make a night of it and enjoy fine art throughout Grand Center on Friday, March 4! Every first Friday of the
month, museums and galleries in the District are free and open until 9:00 pm. Highlights this month include
opening receptions at Duet Gallery from 6 to 9pm and Saint Louis University Art Museum (SLUMA) from 5
to 8pm, and the March Feature Video at the Public Media Commons. Discover the remarkable array of

Call For Talent: Teen Auditions with Story Stitchers
Saint Louis Story Stitchers is holding Open Teen Auditions at the Kranzberg Arts Center Studio Theater on
Saturday, March 5, 10am-1pm. Teens will compete to be showcased in a live concert with the Story
