Every time I call Member Services or go in person, I receive prompt attention. I am very impressed that with such a large institution the staff is always accommodating, friendly and knowledgeable. I can always rely on Franklin Trust to meet my needs and MORE than my expectations. In particular, Jessica Sposito, who has such a terrific personality as well as a great knowledge base in her area, is my go to person. Thank you for making my association with Franklin Trust a pleasant and rewarding experience. Sincerely, N.N. – Willimantic, CT; Member since 2009 My wife and I have been members of FTFCU since the mid-90's. We have always been very happy with their services and products. In 2011, we had two occasions where we needed to do some emergency refinancing. On both occasions, the staff of the Loan Department went above and beyond to make the process easy and painless. Jessie, Maria, Kabita, Dawn and all the associates were outstanding. They kept us informed through the whole process and worked diligently to clear up some minor issues. I have friends who complain how their banks (the BIG ones) seem to take forever when doing something for them. They are in AWE when I tell them how quickly the FTFCU staff was in taking care of me. There is no better way to bank than with FTFCU. You folks are THE BEST. Thanks for all you do. Sincerely, J. Board of Directors Nominee: Stephen Edgerly What do you know about Franklin Trust Federal Credit Union? In 1934, a group of teachers organized a credit union for the purpose of saving and to be able to enhance their lives. I also know Franklin Trust is currently the fourth oldest federal credit union in the country (how proud we are). I’ve also seen the number of services that are offered by the credit union increase over the years and now offer over 50 member services. I’ve seen the credit union grow to multiple branches to be able to serve areas and members in the Greater Hartford area. We were the first credit union to have offices in the schools in Hartford to help educate the students on financial matters and to get them involved in how the credit union serves its member-owners (students work at those branches within the schools). These are some of the things I know about Franklin Trust Federal Credit Union. Why do you want to serve on the FTFCU Board of Directors? I have been involved in the credit union movement for a number of years. I have seen how beneficial being a member-owner and volunteer can be, and the rewards that can come from helping our members. I have worked closely with some of our members through the labor movement. I have seen the credit union grow and I would like to continue serving on the Board and be part of a very progressive group of people trying to help those served and underserved within our community. I am asking the nominating committee to consider nominating me for the board of directors What qualifications and skills do you possess that could be beneficial should you be appointed? In 1967, I became a member of a local manufacturing credit union and was a member there for twenty-two years. I served on the credit committee and the loan committee until we were fortunate enough to merge in 1989 with Central Connecticut Teachers Federal Credit Union. I’ve been a member of this credit union for twenty-three years and a credit union member continuously for a total of forty-five years. I was elected to the board of directors in 1992 and have served as director, then Vice-Chairperson for the last twenty years. I have been involved in deciding the present logo that is seen on all the stationary, as well as the name change to Franklin Trust Federal Credit Union. I’ve seen many improvements to our credit union. One example is when we needed more parking spaces for our members. The board OK’d the purchase of the adjacent property to enhance the parking area. Another example was the renovation to the lobby/member service area (how cool was that)? I have attended the strategic planning sessions every year, plus many conferences and educational seminars. I have served on various committees and the Board of Directors over the years. I would like to continue serving on the BOD and to be involved in moving the credit union forward. Thank You Member-Owners! We Want to Hear from You Now the fourth-oldest federal credit union in the nation, Franklin Trust has been a stable, dependable and trustworthy financial institution since 1934. No memberowner has ever lost a penny of insured savings with us. We will be here for you and your family in the years ahead, providing top-notch service for all your financial needs. 1/17 Please let us know if you have an idea that would improve our credit union. You can use the Suggestion Boxes in any of our offices, or email your comments directly to our President, Kiernan J. Dubay, at We extend a warm ‘Thank You’ to all our member-owners. We are here [email protected]. for you – and without you there would be no credit union. Employee Spotlight Keily Roman Keily Roman has worked in a variety of areas at Franklin Trust Federal Credit Union, since joining the staff in January, 2001. From teller to loan processor, to data processor to accounting clerk, she has done a great job. “I’ve learned a lot of things,” says Keily. “I especially love the teller area, and the interaction with our members.” Born in Puerto Rico, Keily moved to Hartford with her family at the tender age of 9. A graduate of Bulkeley High School, she still calls The Capital City home. Away from work, Keily enjoys going out to eat, watching movies (romantic comedies), clothes shopping, “anything outdoors” (the beach!), and sharing special times with her two daughters. Trips have included visits to Walt Disney World, Myrtle Beach, and Washington, DC. At Franklin Trust, we’re glad that one of Keily’s excursions brought her to our credit union!
