For each day, events are listed in the order they begin, and then alphabetically.
Adult events!
All of the event information has been added by the event and workshop holders of Nowhere. We trust that they
have made smart choices on appropriately marking their events as “adult” if need be. We also trust that you will
carefully read the event descriptions for anything you attend or bring your child to. Nowhere presents a wide
variety of events and activities and it is up to each individual to make sure that they are comfortable with any
events that they or their children attend.

This workshop about creating
bonds with strangers, first through
mindfulness exercises and then
through games used in performing
arts.
We'll use mindfulness to contact
with oneself and the other: guided
imagination to get to focus on the
present moment individually
through mindfulness, to take
consciousness about the
surroundings and our body, how is
it, what do we feel, where are we,
who are we with, what feelings are
we sharing.
In performing arts, interpersonal
connections are the core for true
expression of feelings. This is why
the exercises used to train
interpretative skills are such a good
way to work on self expression and
connection with oneself and others.
In this workshop we’ll explore some
exercises based on eye contact and
body contact, mostly accompanied
with music, to promote self reliance
when sharing situations that
require bodily expression and
contact with strangers.

picture for reasons of dislike,
weariness of having them touched,
or simply because they are too far
away from our eyes to be noticed.
Are you taking your feet for

During this workshop we will start
with a brief anatomical and
emotional mapping of the feet,
followed by pleasuring them
through various sensory
experiences (we'll be using more
than hands!). Connect with them
and indulge in unexpected
sensations, never ignore them
again!

first observe and might come to
you, if I feel ready. The group will
then practise with different games
(e.g. blindfolding etc.) and
hopefully experience that a touch
with good intentions feels good,
independently of the gender or age

The Lindy Hop is an American
dance that evolved in Harlem (NY),
in the 1920-30s and originally
evolved with the jazz music of that
time. It was very popular during the
Swing era of the late 1930s and
early 40s. Class may take place at
MON upon availability.

Spanking for beginners
If you want to learn and experience
while having fun, this is the
workshop for you. The theoretical
part has been reduced to a
minimum so as to leave ample
space to practice phase. Taking a
cue from some simple basic
techniques of spanking,
participants are invited to actively
interact with each other by putting
into practice what has been
proposed in order to live the
"experiences". The course is
designed primarily for "beginners"
but is open to all, even the most
"experts" if available to get involved
and to interact with others.

Bondage Jam - Introduction to
Bondage
Touch&Play offer a daily Bondage
Jam. This space consists of two
parts, the first a guided
introduction to general or specific
types of bondage and the second a
more open space to practice and
play on your own.
To participate in the More
advanced bondage sessions it is
recommended you join the first
general introduction. Some ropes
our provided but it's best to bring
your own.
The 1st workshop will teach
background information about
bondage and Shibari.
The riggers will learn to tie their
first basic knots and some simple
patterns, know what their
responsibilities are and what to
look for in their partner's reactions.
The models (those being tied) will
learn what mindsets enable the best
“subspace”, which body reactions
are normal and which are red flags.

I've made a number of popular
Burning Man music videos over the
years but want to do something
different for Nowhere. I plan to do
a homage to Benny Hill chase
videos but set at Nowhere, with a
burner twist. So this will be us
shooting a series of quick silent
sketches (all farce, to music) and
ending in a chase sequence in the
classic 70s Benny Hill style. After
the event I'll publish it on YouTube

The idea of this activity is to explore
two sides of our inner animal, the
instinctive, fighting side thought
wrestling and the more docile,
submissive side shortly after. The
mud / oil wrestling will be a single
3 minutes fight without winner :
once one opponent will tap out, the
fight will restart immediately for
another round till the 3min run out.
After the fight, we will invite the
opponents in a dome, where they
will be attached to a cross, and 3 or
4 other participants will clean,
wash
and rinse the fighters. The idea is to
ask people, not only to “carwash”,
but to push their boundaries in a
playful and consensual way. Let
them
scream. Let them ask for more. Let
them surrender to their torturers.

grief and rituals for
remembrance
Death is a part of life, but how do
we cope when it touches our life?
For this workshop we will take
inspiration from the story of La
Loba - the wild wolf woman of
myth who roams the desert,
gathering the bones of creatures
who have died there, before singing
over the bones to set the creatures
free. We will do our own ‘singing
over bones’ as we consider ways of
thinking about grief and explore
how we might create a memorial or
ritual to a loved one who has died.
This workshop is not for those
seeking grief counselling or therapy
but is for those wishing to reflect on
and celebrate the life of someone
dearly departed. Limited to 15
participants.

In this workshops we will introduce
the concept and technique of
Nonviolent Communication (NVC)
which is based on the principles of
nonviolence-- the natural state of
compassion when no violence is
present in the heart.
NVC begins by assuming that we
are all compassionate by nature
and that violent strategies—
whether verbal or physical—are
learned behaviours taught and
supported by the prevailing culture.
NVC also assumes that we all share
the same, basic human needs, and
that each of our actions are a
strategy to meet one or more of
these needs.
With NVC we learn to hear our own
deeper needs and those of others.
Through its emphasis on deep
listening—to ourselves as well as
others—NVC helps us discover the
depth of our own compassion. This
language reveals the awareness that
all human beings are only trying to
honour universal values and needs,
every minute, every day.

The idea of this activity is to explore
two sides of our inner animal, the
instinctive, fighting side thought
wrestling and the more docile,
submissive side shortly after. The
mud / oil wrestling will be a single
3 minutes fight without winner :
once one opponent will tap out, the
fight will restart immediately for
another round till the 3min run out.
After the fight, we will invite the
opponents in a dome, where they
will be attached to a cross, and 3 or
4 other participants will clean,
wash
and rinse the fighters. The idea is to
ask people, not only to “carwash”,
but to push their boundaries in a
playful and consensual way. Let
them
scream. Let them ask for more. Let
them surrender to their torturers.

The clown is a grounding spirit who
keeps us connected to our
humanity and vulnerability. So
often we wish to try to show
ourselves as perfect, beautiful
specimens. That is fun sometimes
but it’s very important to show and
laugh a bit at the other, less
beautiful part of us. The paradox is
that in sharing that shadowy part,
we make ourselves even more
beautiful! Showing our ugly/stupid
side is empowering. This will be a
potent ritual in which our flaws can
be transformed into our friends.
Witness the ugly transcend itself
and become sexy and funny. Using
techniques from Clown, Mask,
Butoh, Sacred Sexuality and Dance,
we will access a wild and free place
in which to share ourselves.

understandings to catalyze a group
conversation about what our time
at Nowhere means in relation to the
vast assemblage known as
Existence.
After some form of ecstatic
meditation before the conversation,
we should be more able to speak
freely, knowing that this is a
ludicrous, compassionate, and
awesome space in which to
articulate our innermost thoughts.
