James Chronopoulous has displayed why he is
one of the competition’s best shot stoppers and
against a slick Sharks attach the Bonnyrigg goal
keeper will need to be at his best.
Sutherland has been all style and no substance
at times this season but head coach Carlos
Villazon is confident he can help his side find the
winning edge.
Like all games featuring Sutherland, Saturday’s
match is set to have plenty of highlights.

PREVIEW
B
onnyrigg produced a sensational 4-0 away
win against Blacktown City last weekend, a
result that sees the White Eagles entering their
home clash with Sutherland on the back of two
morale boosting victories.
It comes in stark contrast to Bonnyrigg’s opening
two matches of the season where defeats to
Blacktown Spartans and Rockdale City Suns
left Stephen Sigmund’s side at the foot of the
table, but two huge victories over premiership
heavyweights Manly United and Blacktown City
will no doubt have the rest of the competition
turning heads.
Allan Edmonson’s Sutherland came from behind
against Parramatta to register their third win
of the campaign and with midfield duo of
Thomas Papa and Pat O’Shea in particularly
impressive nick for the Sharks, in addition to the
considerable goal threat of Jack Press who has
claimed three in his past two, it’s sure to be a
fascinating encounter at Bonnyrigg Sports Club.
Although the side are on the precipice of
breaking into the top six for the first time this
campaign, Sigmund’s Bonnyrigg must confront
the threat of Sutherland Sharks who steadied the
ship themselves following last fortnight’s loss at
home to Sydney Olympic with a 2-1 victory over
Parramatta.

PS4 PLAYER PATHWAY AWARD
SUBHEAD
PlayStation 4 has introduced a new initiative
that will add another element of excitement to
this year’s PS4 NPL competitions around the
country.
Since the introduction of the PlayStation 4 NPL,
many talented aspiring young players from
PS4 NPL clubs have progressed to the Hyundai
A-League, whilst the PS4 NPL has also provided
opportunities for Hyundai A-League players to
return to the national second tier competition
to resurrect their footballing dreams.
The PS4 Player Pathway of the Year Award will
provide another avenue for young players to
realise their footballing potential.
The winner of the PS4 Player Pathway Award
will receive a two week training trial with Sydney
FC’s Youth Team for an opportunity to further
their football career.
Sydney FC will provide this opportunity
by exposing them to the next level of
professionalism that is required to reach the
top flight of football in Australia, the Hyundai
A-League.
Managing Director of Sony Computer
Entertainment Australia, Michael Ephraim said,
“The PS4 NPL is widely recognised as the engine

room for the future of professional league
football in Australia.
“By introducing the PS4 Player Pathway Award
we are offering another opportunity for
players who have missed selection through
traditional routes to follow their dreams into
the A-League.”

It complements the Australian Sports Commission’s
Harrassment-free Sport Strategy.
The two day camp will be held at Football New
South Wales’ state-of-the-art training ground,
Valentine Sports Park, where the selected
players will vie for a spot to trial with the Sky
Blues Youth Team, who were crowned Foxtel
National Youth League 2015/16 Champions
earlier this year.
Ephraim added, “We are incredibly grateful to
our partners at FFA, Football NSW, Sydney FC
and the Member Federations for supporting our
initiative and are looking forward to seeing some
excellent talent emerge during the 2016 season.”

Blacktown City FC 2 - Bonnyrigg White Eagles

Sutherland Sharks 2 - Parramatta FC 0 at
Seymour Shaw
Blacktown City has cemented its status as the
comeback kings of the PlayStation®4 National
Premier Leagues NSW Men’s competition after
a heart stopping 2-1 win against Bonnyrigg
White Eagles at Lily’s Football Centre on
Saturday.
Parramatta FC has succumbed to its third
straight loss as two late goals helped
Sutherland Sharks collect a 2-0 PlayStation®4
National Premier Leagues NSW Men’s
competition win at Seymour Shaw on Saturday.
Two goals to super-sub Patrick Antelmi in the
final minute of the match helped the Seven
Hills based side snatch victory from the jaws
of defeat and maintain its perfect start to the
season.
It was a match which featured plenty of drama
including a first half red card to Bonnyrigg’s
Robbie Younis but it was the incredible
concluding stages which will have fans talking
for weeks.
Strikes to Josh Da Silva and Jordan Figon
helped the home side to its first win since
round one ending a three game losing streak.
It was a hard loss to stomach for Parramatta
who threatened for most of the match but
were let down by a brief drop in concentration.
Sutherland’s goal keeper Nikolas Loe was a star
performer on debut and denied Parramatta
time and time again.
Aaron Peterson’s 35th minute strike was
seemingly enough for Bonnyrigg to edge their
way to victory but it wasn’t to be for Brian
Brown’s men as Blacktown made yet another
Houdini like escape.
