4 5 I’m sorry that it’s been a while, but Things have really started to take off for us here at the Ice Factory and its been busy 28 hours a day 9 days a week. NBA ALL Star Weekend was crazy. It caught me off guard but we were ready for it. Shot blocks were the sculptures of choice but that was only for Friday night. Saturday afternoon was a live performance at End Zone Fashion. Getting there was a trip. I don’t know if you know this but The Reverend Butter was born & raised in the North side of Houston. 610/Homestead in a little neighborhood called Houston Gardens right on the outskirt of 5th ward aka “Tha Nickel” Being a ghetto ass muthafuka myself, nothing really surprises me going into different neighborhoods. But when I rolled into 3rd ward on my way to End Zone. DAMN!!!! I thought I was in a swisher house video. There were Oldsmobile’s and Buicks ridin around Scott Street with there Lambo Doors open. For those of you who don’t know bout Lambo doors, its having your car doors open like a Lamborghini. Every female I came across was big-assed and Hoochied out. (my favorite). When we arrived to the spot, I think we were the only token Mexicans in sight. We rolled out 300 pounds of ice and rocked a piece for the crowd. They loved it so much; they wanted another one for Sunday night at MIDNIGHT. so we rock that party and roll out to our other night club spots to deliver some more ice. Sunday rolls around and I had a prior involvement with this bridal show that was lame. All the brides were red neck white trash. I know this because several brides-to-be told me,” I’m red neck 6 white trash honey, we don’t need no ice sculpture.” (I can’t make this shit up) Running on 3 hours sleep and trying to get out of this was truly impressed. so much, they asked us wedding show, I finally leave and get to my to stay for the party. By now, its 10:30 pm next challenge. The Mitchell & Ness Party. and we still need to do the 2nd end zone ice Mitchell & Ness contacted me and asked if performance in downtown h-town. We roll out we were able to do a life-size NBA player? that way and thanks to Large Marge, the cops Of course we can, so we sculpted it at our made a path to get us through. The power of icehouse and the mutherfuker weighed 1500 the ambulance cannot be beat. We set up, pounds and required 5 blocks of ice to make. do our performance and as we’re trying to That was the easy part. Now, how the fuck leave to go back to the Mitchell & Ness party, was I gonna load this bitch in Large Marge. A fight erupts and it looks like the source (for those who don’t know, large marge is our awards. The cops make us wait for 15 minutes delivery ambulance/vip room) The sculpture and I’m tryin to get the fuck outta there. I was so big, we couldn’t get it into large got some iced out DosXX and several joints marge & it was 1 hour before I had to be at waiting for me in Margie. LETS GO, LETS GO the party. I started to freak out (on the inside I yell and the only response I get is an angry of course, you can’t have you crew see that) cop maddoggin me. Nothin’ to do but wait. Luckily Azul of the Aerosol Warfare Crew Finally were out, change in the ride and get suggested to load him in backwards. we did, there. Walk in like superstars, autographed but the ice baller’s head wouldn’t fit into the a couple of titties and partied our asses off. ambulance. Fuck It, we gotta go. We leave the throughout the night, I noticed a petite older ice house and roll out to Belvedere in uptown white lady that somehow didn’t fit in, so I with the back doors open to large marge approached her and struck up conversation. and part of the ballers head sticking out the It turned out to be the owner of M & N’s back, GONZO247, also of the Aerosol Warfare wife. Sweetheart she was. We walked out crew, was holding the doors with a rope and with goodie bags that included $300 jackets, 1 glove, I told you we’re ghetto. Driven down limited edition caps and miscellaneous shit. All 610 doing 50 in an ambulance with sirens & in all, we got back around 3 in the mornin and lights blaring hoping we don’t get pulled over I didn’t go to sleep till about 6:50am. I actually was definitely something I’ll never forget. Well, got a chance to see the sun rise as I toked my we made it, set everything up and the client last J for the weekend and got to reflect on even though I got no sleep and hauled around over 5 thousand pounds of ice that weekend.
