It’s been a while since
we’ve brought you a
new edition of the GG
Family newsletter. But
as most of you know,
we’ve been busy
shopping for homes,
trips, birthdays, and so
much more. You’ll have
to read on to find out all
about our crazy
summer. We’ll miss our
friends and family here
when we make the
move to Ottawa, but we
look forward to finally
getting into our new
home. Send us any
pictures and stories you
want to share with
everyone and we’ll
include them in our Fall
edition.

Arabella’s First Birthday
Summer in Poland
Over 20 friends and family
joined us to celebrate. Both
sets of Arabella’s
grandparents have pictures of
her Mommy and daddy with
cake and icing all over their
faces and in her hair. But not
Arabella. She takes after no
one. Our girl was the life of
the party until she pooped out
(right around nap time). With
everyone demanding hugs
(and making those awful baby
faces), it’s no wonder she felt
the need for a small rest.
Once back up and ready to
party again, Arabella opened
piles of presents. Her favorite
toy (after the wrapping paper)
seems to be the pink plush
and plastic zebra from Aunt
Kristy. Arabella wants to let
you all know how thankful she
is for her gifts and all your
love.
If you haven’t already, visit
our home page to view all of
our pictures from our trip to
Poland. Chris was, thank
goodness, click-happy. He got
a number of great shots. We
got to visit the Teutonic castle
in Malbork, the city of Gdansk
(which was beautiful and the
people were so friendly) and
the Baltic Sea. We drove to
Lotz (the Polish Manchester).
Oh, and the exquisite Silesian
capital Wroclaw was amazing
as well. Beata asked every
restaurant and shop if they
would provide her with recipes
for dishes she fell in love with.
Taste testers welcome. We
also put a number of the
recipes up on our site.

Take a gander at our beautiful
home-to-be in the heart of
Ottawa. Hopefully by next
summer we’ll be able to invite
everyone over for a weekend
for some good food and catch
up gossip and conversation.
The new house has 4
bedrooms, 2 baths, and a
huge family room that we
know will be filled with all of
Arabella’s new toys. Chris, of
course, loves the long center
stove/cooking area. Look for
the Chez Chris Grand
