PROJECT DESCRIPTION
GovanBrown was chosen to be Convergy’s Construction Manager for their new 50,000 square foot call centre
located in the Heron Gate Mall in Ottawa. The project involved the conversion of a previous 22’ high retail
space environment into a state-of-the-art Communication Technologies Call Centre c/w new ceilings, lighting,
mechanical and electrical systems, washrooms, training rooms and telecommunications rooms.
Additioanl challenges were created since all members of the client and design team were based outside of the
greater Ottawa area with the majority of the design team being outside of Canada. Project scheduling and
tasking through effective communication played vital roles in executing the project effectively and efficiently.
