Welcome New Crew!
Count de Money is now being
played by Rob Fitzpatrick.
When not fighting crime in his
superhero suit, Rob likes to
garden weasel and shovel snow.
Rob loves to spend time in the
kitchen preparing lasagna for
his pet cat Garfield. His dream
is to play Officer Krupke in
West Side Story on Broadway.
Rob is married to Julie
Fitzpatrick but he doesn’t
know. Shh! It’s a surprise.
Vicki Kerr, the new
Membership Diva, was elected
Miss California 1987 and then
served as a representative
in the Nebraska state house.
She likes Laffy Taffy, cough
syrup and Baby Einstein videos.
She married Kelly Kerr on a
bet that she is still waiting to
pay off. As a child, her dream
job was to be a hostess at the
local Red Lobster, which came
true in 1997 when she moved
to Hong Kong after winning the
Powerball lottery.

Thirty-sixth Entry: November 16, 2011
In the wake of a fine trip South, I am left
speechless by the incredible fun we had. 50 strong
descended on Key West, and who shows up, but the
mythical being hisself! Long time coming, but to see
JB on stage was a sight to see. But as the saying
goes, there’s just too much to see waitin in front of me! And there be so many
grand things afoot and that we arrrrrrrgh excited about. Sorry, I get stuck
on the arrrrr’s. Time to reflect, for one, as the holidays approach, on those less
fortunate. The party part we have in full force, but we have a purpose also, and
we will help out in our own parrothead ways! Next month we get together to
just celebrate being friends in this season, and I look forward to raising a glass
once again as the leader of Ye all! Bloody Bill
The Pirate King
As I came down the long street by the water,
The sea-ships dropped their masts like ladies bowing.
Curtseying friendly in a manner olden,
Shrouds and sails in silken sunlight flowing,
Gleaming and shimmering from silverie into golden,
With the sea-winds through the sunlit spaces blowing.
~ Francis E. Falkenbury
(Thank you for another great year Key West!)
*none of this is true. Rob & Vicki, please don’t be
mad at me!

And THEN it Started to Get
Weird…
Add the phrase to the end of each of the
statement for each bar “and THEN is started to
get weird.” Then you’ll understand the insanity of
Key West a little better.
At Better Than Sex
• Upon receiving a Chocolate Rim Job, she said,
“I thought it would be hard.”
Volume 18 Issue 10
At 801 Bourbon Street
• Paul Perkins, Jim Farrell and Mike Hardesty
departing The Dirty Bar, eyes wide shut, all
caused by 2-for-1 drink cards
• Jim Farrell, describing in detail, the Tickle
Room and the Clothes Cubby without his shirt
At Aqua
• One of the drag queens mentioning his foot
fetish to the Mayor of MOTM, who was not
wearing socks
• Meeting Faith Michaels, the David Hasselhoff
of this generation
At Two Friends
• Bob professing his
love for Kelly Piech
via karaoke, causing
all girlfriends and
wives to ask “why
don’t you sing like
that for me?”
At the World’s Smallest Bar, epicenter for all
weirdness,
• The Mayor of MOTM trying on a pair of
women’s high heel shoes.
At Hog’s Breath
• Kristin McFadden wishing for a penis for 24
hours
At the Garden of Eden
• Sharon Marek arriving for her remembrance
ceremony in Tupperware
• As we’re toasting and remembering Sharon,
naked hula hooping ensued. She would have
wanted it that way
• Placing some of Sharon’s ashes in a whiskey
vial
• The Mayor of MOTM showing his tattoo
cheek to cheek with a drunken Honeymooner.
(She had no ink. They were also her shoes.)
• The gentleman modeling his underwear that
was less offensive than his t-shirt. The saying
on his underpants married gas with kisses.
• A rugby match breaking out in the middle
of the bar, with the Mayor of MOTM acting as
bouncer
To quote Al Camp, Pirate Extraordinaire, “what
happens in Key West never happened.” For those
who were unable to join us this year, perhaps you
understand why.
Madame Secretary has a couple of holiday recipes.

OREO BALLS
Banana Bender/Painkiller
1 pkg regular size Oreo cookies, crushed
1 8 oz pkg cream cheese, softened
1 pkg chocolate chips (white or regular)
The base juice is 4 parts pineapple juice,
1 part orange juice and one part CoCo
Lopez. Now if you want a painkiller, mix
with this juice a good dark rum. If you
want a banana bender, then mix this
juice with Cruzan banana rum.
Using a blender or hand mixer, mix
Oreos and cream cheese together. Roll
into walnut sized balls. Chill at least 1
hour.
2
Melt chocolate chips and using a toothpick, dip balls into chocolate. Allow to
harden on wax paper.
YUMMY!!
Don’t forget the fresh grated nutmeg on
the top.
Now close your eyes, put some Buffett
on the jukebox, sit back, relax and wish
you were somewhere warm!!

Baking Days
The Misericordia Baking Day is Saturday, November 26th; the Saturday after
Thanksgiving. What a great way to celebrate Thanksgiving by sharing your time
to help others. If you have not joined us for baking in the past it’s a lot of fun.
We make trays and trays of cookies – no we don’t eat them – that are used in the
Christmas packages sold to corporations and individuals as holiday gifts. The work
is not hard and I personally find helping others very rewarding. We are in need of
20 Parrot Heads to work from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Misericordia is located on
the North side of the City at 6300 N. Ridge Ave. We usually grab lunch as a group
after volunteering at spot close to Misericordia. Please send me an email at Rnooner@
aol.com if you want to volunteer.

The Duval Crawl
Volume 18 Issue 10
Unscramble the names of these bars, pubs and restaurants on or near Duval Street in Key West. Then take
the numbered letters in order to find the center of Duval Street.
Your editor would like to thank
those whose photos I cribbed from
Facebook, especially Ron Horne and
Bob Dunbar. If you would like to see
photos of Jimmy Buffett and the
Coral Reefers at the Street Fest,
please check out Ron’s Facebook
Page. He also has an amazing
collection of photos from various
performances he attended.

First of all thank you Aymee for
the pass of the baton. i will let you
know if I’m happy or sad....To the
CHPC a big thanks for allowing me
the opportunity to serve as your
membership director. I’m sure
most of you have no idea my music
taste does not include Jimmy. I
Vicki Kerr
know how could that be..... I was
Membership Diva
told that we (Kelly and I) joined
this club, I think the day before
the first meeting I came to.. I’m still here because I like
what the club does for the charties they support and the
fun stuff that goes with it. We have met great people and
had fun in the process. How bad can that be??? So I hope
that I can serve you as well as Aymee did and help the club
grow.

Someone You
Should Know:
Lenore Troia
For those of us
who have been
in the TropRock
world for a while,
in the 90s
Lenore was one of the 1st female TropRock
singers out there! Her CDs “Wild
Island Night,” “Jetset to Sunset,” and
“Fishin’ You Were Here” were staples of
every early TropRockers collection. Then it
seemed she dropped off the TropRock scene
about 10 years ago.
Well, not really.. She is alive and well! Living
in Key West and providing the locals with
a great mix of tropical and jazz music. She
released a new CD a few year ago called
“Sand Dancing” and it’s a perfect mix of her
own style of tropical/jazz music, and after
talking to her there will be a new CD out next
year!
So if you’re in Key West, Lenore plays
Sunday nights at the Garden Hotel and you
can see her schedule and her list of CDs at
www.lenoretroia.com. If you order any of her
music remember to tell her Marty sent you!!

Toasting Sharon
Sharon Marek was a long
time member who battled
ovarian cancer for over 10
years. Sharon passed away
without fulfilling a dream
of attending Meeting of
the Minds. Her brother,
Art Marek and wife Dawn, Chicago Parrot Heads gather at the Garden of Eden to
celebrate Sharon Marek. Bob Dunbar, Bill Brehm, Bev
helped to make this wish Kleinman, Art Marek, Sharon Klupar, Dawn Marek, Kristin
come true, in unique Parrot McFadden, Mike LaGioia, Bob Noonan, Rick Kleinman. Not
pictured: Bill and Dee Tropp and the naked hula hoopers.
Head fashion.
On a gorgeous Sunday afternoon, a dozen Parrot Heads
joined Art and Dawn at the Garden of Eden, the clothing
optional bar in Key West to let Sharon “let it all hang
out” and to toast her indominable spirit. Fortunately, the
winds calmed for the moment when Sharon went “topless.”
In the background, bar regulars mingled and hoola hooped
– a fitting setting for a memorable tribute.
